pray for my family

Hey guys I would like for you to pray for us. I was in the process a year ago to start a outfitting business so things were going as planned .I was still working for my family construction company at the time. .I had worked out a location and signed a lease to purchase this 154 acre farm with a house and cabin on . So I had started spending money on websites advertising and fenceing and many many other supplies. Well time went on I had some of the land cleared and was going to open for business this October 1 . I was turning down hunts all summer longbecause we were not ready for hunters. I wanted it to be just right before I had guys start hunting with me. I had booked several hunts at this time. I had invested alot of money so far in the business . My regular job in construction became slow at the first of the year so I was really depending on the new business to work out for me and my family. I had spent alot of time going to the property walking it over taking video footage taking pic clearing land and just enjoying the thought of having my own outfitting business. I would walk and pray and thank god for everything he was doing in my life. So around May I had a small lease payment coming due .I had talked several times to the owner about my new business and she was wanting it to do well for me.We talked several times each week. over the past 10 months .So around the middle of april I had to go out of town with my wife for 3 days . I had spoken to the landowner 3 days before I left .I told her I was going out of town I could pay her for the may1 payment .She said dont worry about it just pay me later on .We had talked about our contract this last time. I was originally going to make a large payment every 3 months to cover the lease payments once the business opens up .So she said that it would help her if I could just pay monthly instead of waiting 3 months at a time. So I said that want be a problem So we talked for about 45 minutes and The next day I left to go out of town. So I came back I receive a call from the realtor she said where have you been I said out of town .she said I talked to the land owner and she told me that she has tried to get in touch with you for a month and cant reach you. I said thats not true it has just been last week when i spoke to her. So I told her everything that we(me and the landowner) had said and she said that is nothing what she told me .she said you were avoiding her calls and I didnt make my payment so She was going to cancel the lease agreement. At this time I was so shockedand I didnt know what to say . I told the realtor that she was lieing to you what can I do now. She said she dont want to work with me that she just wants to lease out the house and cabin and just forget the deal.So she knew that if she waited so many days after the payment was due she could cancel the lease to purchase contract and move on. Well I had talked to her alot and I would spend hours at the farm talking to her for several hours I never saw this coming. I tried to call to see what was going on and she acted like we never talked at all. It was so weard . She knew how to break the contract during this time and here I am with nothing. I had to send back deposits cancel hunts send guys to other outfitters who would take care of them .I had spent everything I had on this business and lost it all over night.I had to file for chapter 7 last month because of this. I still dont understand at all. I pray to the lord and say Im taking it as a test of faith. Im going to learn from this and not get mad .So Im just going to give the lord praise and wait for my blessings. So Im in the process of getting back on my feet again but my family has been thru a ruff time.

i have friends i trust completely, and i would do anything for them, but business is business, and i have found it is best not to mix the two, and ALWAYS get it in writing, i had a small business for a while (till a back injury slowed me down[:-]) but i learned in short order to write up a contract, it protects both parties... i think what she did is under-handed, sneaky,and wrong[&o], i also believe what goes around comes around, and she will get hers...

if she within the guidelines of the contract, you really don't have much too stand on, its a shame some peoples word is no good anymore, and that you can't do business on a handshake[&o]. if she is outside the guidelines seek some legal council,you have learned a very valuable lesson, sometimes they are tough, but i assure you, you'll never forget it

I feel for you.
It looks like she was just waiting for you to do all the work and she could get it for free.
Either way its not good.
I will pray for you that things will work out for you.
I kinda know how you feel, things don't always work out the way we want them to.
