"At the name of Jesus every knee should bow..." (Philippians 2:10).

RECENTLY A ROMAN Catholic bishop in the Netherlands made a pronouncement that people who call themselves Christians are perfectly fine to refer to God by the name, Allah, so as to ease tensions with our Muslim neighbors... [:@][:@]
Conservative political pundits, such as G. Gordon Liddy have fired back saying that the God of the Jews and Christians does not have a name. He, too, is sorely misguided.
The God who created and sustains this world is alive and well. In fact, He is the only true God. There is no other. Oh sure, people have referred to things as gods, from those who worshipped imaginary gods of the things seen in nature, to man-made idols, to the Mormon belief that male humans can become gods one day. None of these false gods are backed by reality. There is no truth in them. There is no truth in following after them.
Among these false gods is Allah. Early Meccans were pagan idolaters who worshipped the stars, the sun, the moon, as well as the planets, Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter. One of the gods was deemed to be superior to all the rest, the moon god, Allah. Mohammed selected him to honor, and having studied Judaism, pressed the claim that Allah is the only god. Allah is not the same as the Creator. The name, Allah, is not just another way of saying "God."
The true God wants us to know Him in a personal and practical way. He has revealed Himself through the Scriptures and through His Son, Jesus Christ. (Roger Wright)

My, my, aren't we living in a world of political correctness... But statements like that don't surprise me. We have some so called Christians say there are many way to heaven, and that is a joke too.
I'm not a Catholic so I really don't care whata bishop or the pope says, they don't speak for me.
People don't always stay with the program. 8.33% of Jesus' closest disciples sold him out to the guys who wanted to execute him. You can read about it. It's right there in the Bible.

I really don't understand what you're saying here. So then you are saying it's alright to be wrong?
Where were you last year he said the same thing.!! I won't defend him, and understand why you are upset. He is one of the less traditional to say the least. He is also for the use of condoms that goes over like letting wind in church I suppose. But he is retired and is in the Netherlands, need i say more. What exactly is going on in Malaysia I'm not really sure. I did a little search and what I understand this is where he got on this kick I do know the largest Christian Church there a evangelical church, is doing the same thing. In fact they are being put in jail at time by the powers that be, They had to fight to get laws to allow them to use the word Allah,???? Evidently it is a culture or language thing?? see below
Meanwhile, there is no update on the battle being waged by the Sabah Evangelical Church of Borneo, which also initiated legal proceedings after it was banned from importing Christian books with the word "Allah" in it.
Jerry Dusing, pastor of Sabah Evangelical Church of Borneo said that the word "Allah" had been used for generations by Malay speakers at Sabah and noted that it is used in the Malay Bible.
"The Christian usage of 'Allah' predates Islam. 'Allah' is the name of God in the old Arabic Bible as well as in the modern Arabic Bible," he said, according to the Associated Press.
Dusing also noted that the word "Allah" is commonly used by Christians in countries like Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq and Indonesia.
Malaysia, a country of around 25 million, is around 60 percent Muslim, 19 percent Buddhist, 9 percent Christian and 6 percent Hindu.
Although the constitution of the country officially allows freedom of religion, minority groups have often accused the Muslim Malay majority of trying to increase the role of Islam in the country.
Last week, December 10, a Sabah church sued Abdullah and the government for banning the importation of Christian children books from Indonesia.
Sabah Sidang Injil Borneo (SIB), or the evangelical church of Borneo, is the largest Christian denomination in the state.
According to media reports, Sabah Sidang Injil Borneo Church"s lawyer Lim Heng Seng had submitted a certificate of urgency to the court to obtain the hearing today.
However, when the case was brought up for mention at the Kuala Lumpur High Court in Jalan Duta today, it was postponed to January 15 next year.
Senior federal counsel Azizah Nawawi, who is representing the government, requested for an adjournment on the ground that "several relevant parties are in the midst of discussion to resolve the issue".
The plaintiff's lawyer did not object to the defendants' application.
BACKGROUNDER, From Malaysiakini:
The suit, filed on behalf of the SIB Church by its president, Pastor Jerry Dusing, is against the government and the prime minister, who is also internal security minister, after six titles for their children"s Sunday school were confiscated by the authorities.
The church is seeking to nullify the ban to import four Bahasa Indonesia titles and the withholding of two other titles under the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984.
The church is also requesting the courts to compel the minister to return the consignment of materials that were "unlawfully detained" by Custom officers at the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal on Aug 15.
The ministry has replied in writing to the church in September explaining that the books were prohibited because the Bahasa Indonesia publications contained certain words that were exclusive to Islam.
The words in contention are "Allah" (God), "Baitullah" (House of God), "Solat" (prayer) and "Kaabah" (The Sacred House).
The church had emphasised that the seized publications were for educational purposes within the church and not for sale or distribution.
The church is also seeking the court to rule on the constitutional right and legitimate expectation to the use of the term 'Allah' as a translation for God in Christian publications as well the right to import such publications.
Alex don't put the majority of Catholics in the same boat with this guy. It just ain't so.Joe.
I did notice this jerk that wrote the article used bold print for Roman Catholic. Probably one of your good buddies.

No, I'm saying that it's almost inevitable and we should not be surprised. 8.33% of Jesus disciples sold Him out for 30 pieces of silver. Should we condemn all the disciples because of that?
The Church has means of dealing with clergy who get out of line, so I'm not going to get worked up about it.
