'PROSPERITY GOSPEL" WORKS FOR TELEVANGELIST'S FAMILY
Why you should be careful who you listen to on T.V. this is only one of about fifty charlatans and false teachers..
'PROSPERITY GOSPEL" WORKS FOR TELEVANGELIST'S FAMILY
NEWARK, Texas Here in the gentle hills of north Texas, televangelist Kenneth Copeland has built a religious empire teaching that God wants his followers to prosper.
Over the years, a circle of Copeland"s relatives and friends have done just that, The Associated Press has found. They include the brother-in-law with a lucrative deal to broker Copeland"s television time, the son who acquired church-owned land for his ranching business and saw it more than quadruple in value, and board members who together have been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for speaking at church events.
Church officials say no one improperly benefits through ties to Copeland"s vast evangelical ministry, which claims more than 600,000 subscribers in 134 countries to its flagship "Believer"s Voice of Victory" magazine. The board of directors signs off on important matters, they say. Yet church bylaws give Copeland veto power over board decisions.
While Copeland insists that his ministry complies with the law, independent tax experts who reviewed information obtained by the AP through interviews, church documents and public records have their doubts. The web of companies and non-profits tied to the televangelist calls the ministry"s integrity into question, they say.
Money, Money, Money"
If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, {4} he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions {5} and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. {6} But godliness with contentment is great gain. {7} For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. {8} But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. {9} People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. {10} For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. (1 Timothy 6:3-10 ).

interesting motor, i like to listen to Dave Ramsey and he may be considered by some here as a "prosperity teacher". i don't have a love of money, but somehow i have never had to do without, don't get me wrong there are times when more would have been handy, but the Lord has always provided, since following some of Dave Ramsey's advice, i have been able to give beyond my wildest imagination.. many Will probably remember the guy i picked up and helped with his car trouble, i paid to repair his car, no big deal to me but the guys has not missed a service since i invited him to join us, and hethanks me every time he see's me, (i have told/asked him not to do that anymore[&:]), before i started listening i never believed or participated in tithes like i believe i should have been, now i don't discuss them, because i base what i give on scripture above and beyond, plus none of its really mine anyway..
what i see as a problem is when people want to be extravagant and flashy, i really don't believe God wants people poor and miserable, but i also think alot of folks that are at the other extreme will be surprised one day also[&o]. but not having a lot of "stuff" does not equate to being poor either, every stand back and watch or listen to someone struggling, alot of it is behavior problems, people put themselves into a lot of desperate situations, its not a pretty thing, i firmly believe when your head is in the right place, things will start to look a lot different
two things that will help anyone, don't let a love of money take you down, and don't be a slave to the lender, neither are good for the soulIMO

I have nothing but seething contempt for charlatans who use religion to fill their pockets. To prey upon the credulity of the poor, the weak and the desperate makes them the lowest of the low.

My plumber had to make a call at the Copeland's Temple, he told me they have a room with several people that all they do all day longis separate dollars from checks.
I recall several years ago the Copeland's had a yard worker that was making 6 or 7 dollars an hour. This person and his family were getting kicked out of his apartment, and had other financial problems. He went to the Copeland for a raise, but they told him he was not prospering because he wasn't giving enough. It was on our local news for a while.

I do not know much scripture but I do seem to remember an incident where Jesus told a wealthy young man that if he wanted to become one of his followers he should sell what he had and give the money to the poor. Jesus did not say give the money to me. I can not understand the hypocrisy of some of these TV preachers who proclaim they follow Jesus' word but keep demanding that their viewers keep sending them money.

Luke 18:22
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

I would suggest that, instead of sending money to these TV preachers, that you buy lottery tickets instead. At least with the lottery tickets there is a chance, however slight, that you could come out ahead.
