Blood donors are nice people

Not sure how they go about collecting blood, states side but in Canada it is strictly volunteer donations.
I was at a donation clinic today (they come to our small town once a month to collect blood from those who are willing). It is a long proccess as they ask a lot of question and do some serious screening. It was well over 1.5 hours from when I came in the door till when I had my coffee and sandwitch before leaving. I always look around and see people that I know and they are all "nice people" And it stricks me that all the people there who are willing to role up their sleave to give their blood to perhaps save the life of a complete stranger, are "nice people". Someone who they will never know and who will never know them or directly thank them.

Christ said "Love one another!" How great the love for their fellow man these blood donors have. They are willing to give some of their blood tosave a stranger. And it got me thinking about the One we all know who gave all His blood to save us all.

One of my brother Knights (Knights of Columbus) runs the blood drive for our council/parish. He had his 32 yo son donate blood... while they were screening him, taking blood samples, etc... they noticed something out of sorts. The phlebotomists <sp> told him to see a doctor, & the doctor found his colon cancer in the very early stages. He's fully recovered now, & in good health, all because of "nice people".
