Howdy to you all and welcome to church on the net.. i hope all is well at your house and that God has blessed you in someway this week..please continue to pray for one another and especially for he lost as i belive with all my heart Jesus is coming soon..what if he came tonight, are you ready to meet him face to face?I been reading and studying in the old Test. and i really enjoyed this struggle between God an Jacob..let's look at it this morning and see if you get a blessing out of it..
22 And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.
23 And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. Genesis 32:22-30 KJV..
Father we than you for your Word and it is my prayer that we can glean something from it that will help us in our daily lives..we thank and love you in Jesus name , Amen
Most of you no doubt, have read the above account of Jacob's struggle with God. This was not angel, but God taking a form and fighting with Jacob. Now Jacob was told by God that his descendants will be as many as the sand, yet Jacob for whatever reason can not accept what he has been told. aren't we a lot like that..we can't do what God tells us and we go out on our own and look where we are today..we too fight with God as did Jacob.. He fights with God through the night and God allows him to be on even terms in their struggle. but here he was fighting for a reason..he wanted a blessing but you know if he had just trusted God he wouldn't have to fight for the blessing..that's our problem, a lot ,if not all Christians miss out on blessings because we won"t trust God's Word.. When you think about it, God is the one who has spoken all things into existence and holds all things together by His Word, yet Jacob is allowed to hold on in struggle that he should not be able to win or even tie.you know you are not going to win over God..sometimes He allows us to think we do but no, God's will shall be done.. God has His reasons for allowing such things to occur. Jacob name is changed to Israel as an indication of what he has gone through during this night. When you look at Jacob, each of us should realize that when we are called by God, that God will at times even allow us to wrestle with Him about certain things He has told us and for whatever reason we are struggling with, and for the past few months i have been in the valley with some seious health problems..tha doctors don't seem to be able to help me so i can't put my trust and faith in them, i can only trust God and by doing so i have peace in my heart and soul.. yes, we truly need to depend on Him give us assurance of His Hand upon our lives. Now if we do this with everything, then I would believe we are missing the boat and not truly trusting God to be our Lord and Savior.so we should trust in God and He will be there for us no matter what the probblem is..I like to say He is an in time on time all the time God..my friends we serve a wonderful merciful Saviour amen It is the men and women of faith that will honor God by their lives and choices. where do you stand today? is your faith and trust in man or have you turned it all over toHim?..I am standing on that promise that He made to Paul when Paul asked him to heal hisyou love and mercy toward us and ask you to forgive us of our sins and shortcomings and those many times we have not trusted you.. and Father if their is one here lost without a Saviour,i pray this will be their day of salvation..in Jesus name and for his sake i pray, Amen.. infirmity..He said," My grace is sufficient for thee" I have reached the foot of my mountain and am starting the slow climb upward and with God's mercy and grace i'll reach the top one way or another..either way i win..Praise the Lord!
Father we again thank you for your wonderful love and mercy..i pray that we have received a blessing from your Word this day..and Father, it is our prayer that if there is one here ttoday that is lost and hellbound that this will be their day of salvation..we love you..i pray in the name of Jesus the Christ and for his sake,AMEN
