Hebrews 10:26-27; . For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified,
What ever one interprets from thes scriptures, he must admit that they were spoken to ones who were at one time sanctified. Were those santified ones, saved?
'Exasperated, the man cries. 'At this rate the only way I'll get into heaven is by the grace of God.'
'Bingo! 100 points ! Come on in!'

Kinda flys in the face of the once saved always saved no matter what mentality.
Just like any other subject tho the entirety of Scripture pertaining to a subject needs be brought together and reconciled. One Scripture which must be reconciled with Hebrews 10:26-27 is 1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
I believe the Hebrews Scriptures show that we can cast off Christ from our hearts and even become an enemy to the faith. "29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?" Verse 29 seems to define the sin being spoken of as going far beyond backsliding . . .it even sounds akin to blasphemy of the Holy Spirit . . .as in contributing the things of God unto demons.

Grammatically, "by which he was sanctified" can refer either to the apostate or to Christ.
If the reference is to Christ, it is Christ who is sanctified, set apart as our great high priest by the sacrificial shedding of his own blood. To me this would make much more sense. If we assume it is the apostate that is sanctified it makes no sense as the definitition of sanctification is to be set aside for something. To assume this is a sanctified person losing their salvation is a contradiction with much scripture...

"Now unto him that is able TO KEEP YOU from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy," Jude 24[/blockquote] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby YE ARE SEALED unto the day of redemption." Ephesians 4:30
". . .after that ye believed, YE WERE SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise," Ephesians 1:13
[blockquote]"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: BUT HE HIMSELF SHALL BE SAVED; yet so as by fire." 1 Corinthians 3:11-15[/blockquote]
[blockquote]"It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. . .To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit MAY BE SAVED in the day of the Lord Jesus." 1 Corinthians 5:1,5[/blockquote][/i]

We could care less about the legalistics of grammar, whether, english, greek, hebrew, arabic, or any other. The word of God is spiritually discerned. The Spirit doesn't speak out of both sides of his mouth. God only said one thing here.
"We" ??? You got a mouse in your pocket snooky?. Its People ignoring simple rules of grammer and telling others to trust their "spritual discernment" that have led to many doctrinal errors.

Did I ask or tell you to trust anything concerning my spiritual discernment? If you chose to believe that God speaks with a forked tongue, you have that right.
