Default Once Saved Always Saved

Having not been a member but a short time is encouraging as to the subjects I have viewed and been a part of. I noticed in one of the post it was mentioned that someone said they were saved and baptised at an early age. Can we get some feedback on once saved, always saved without getting into whats termed as a flame fest?

I will make a promise to give my opinion here in this post and then I will remain silent for the duration of thethread. I promise I will not answer a heated retort from anyone or respond. I really wouldlike to see what you think!

My opinion is: If someone comes forth and accepts Christ as their Savior and then identifies themselves with Christ and undergoes baptism and later goes against what hewent through at the time he made a decision, I contend he was never saved in the first place. IMHO, if I accepted Christ one day and went out and comitted murder the next day, then I was never saved because I didn't mean it in my heart which God only knows. I eagerly await your opinions please! Benny

Sounds like me my friend..I don't mind debating BUT when it get's carnal..I stop..Carnality never brings glory to God or gets people saved.

My opinion is: If someone comes forth and accepts Christ as their Savior and then identifies themselves with Christ and undergoes baptism and later goes against what hewent through at the time he made a decision, I contend he was never saved in the first place. Possibly..1 John seems to say that as well.IMHO, if I accepted Christ one day and went out and comitted murder the next day, then I was never saved because I didn't mean it in my heart which God only knows. I have givne this doctrine much thought..just when I lean toward faith with works..GOD then does something in my life that only grace can do..and then when I take my Christian life for granted He reminds me."If the Righteous are bearly saved where does tha tleave the sinner and ungodly."

After much thought...I agree with Ephesians 2..that we are not saved by our own selves but by God's grace "Lest any man should boast." "For we are His workmanship created unto good works."If one thinks they are saved but have no evidence of "His Workmanship." then they are not truly saved..for a good tree brings about fruit..A corrupt tree can not bring forth fruit adn "By thier fruit ye shall know them."
AND those who are bearing forth fruit..are doing so simply by the grace of God..Therefore the Righteous truly are saved by grace..The unrighteous according to 1 John are really the children of the devil..They can call themselves saved all they want but they are only fooling themselves..If ye have doubt ..Jesus says,"Make the tree good."..and by HIs grace that is possilbe..

Peter says
,"Make your salvation sure." Paul says,Examine yourselves."

Romans 11

17But some of these branches from Abraham"™s tree"”some of the people of Israel"”have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God"™s special olive tree. 18But you must not brag about being grafted in to replace the branches that were broken off. You are just a branch, not the root.
19"śWell,"ť you may say, "śthose branches were broken off to make room for me."ť 20Yes, but remember"”those branches were broken off because they didn"™t believe in Christ, and you are there because you do believe. So don"™t think highly of yourself, but fear what could happen. 21For if God did not spare the original branches, he won"™t* spare you either.
22Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe toward those who disobeyed, but kind to you if you continue to trust in his kindness. But if you stop trusting, you also will be cut off. 23And if the people of Israel turn from their unbelief, they will be grafted in again, for God has the power to graft them back into the tree. 24You, by nature, were a branch cut from a wild olive tree. So if God was willing to do something contrary to nature by grafting you into his cultivated tree, he will be far more eager to graft the original branches back into the tree where they belong.

There is a bit more in Romans 12.

Amen brother Benny I agree--But
IMOP I believe a person can be saved and situations beyond his control causes him/her to Blackslide--Was they saved? I say yes--Are they going to Heaven? I say no, not unless they repent.I guess what I'm saying is. A personthat is trually saved is always saved--But if you turn your back on God(backslide)your on your way to Hell, unless you Repent. That is why I repent daily too make shore. Like I said I agree with you but I had to throw in A little extra!!!
God Bless Ya'll

Dear ones..I must also say..that the love of God is deeper than anyone can ever no..and we will all be judged according to the knowledge we have recieved...

God is also slow to anger and waits patiently for the world to repent..

I know that His grace has taught my heart to fear and to desire to walk in paths of righteousness,,and honestly I'm not really qualified to say when God cuts a man or women off...as for me..I'm not taking any chances..He demands obedience and has given us His Spirit to help us..The Word says the Righteous will barely make it..then where does that leave the rest..I also know "He coming back for those who love Him." "If any man love the world , the love of the Father is not in Him..

If any of you ae doubting ..then it;s really simple..Pray daily that God will give you a desire to love Him more than this world and begin each day with about 5 chapters of the Word of God..His Word alone can set you free..It's alive and powerful.."They that love me love my Word."john 14.

1 John 2....I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

Gal 5:4 ye are fallen from grace.

II Peter 2:20 for if after they have escaped the polutions of the world through the knowledge of The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are AGAIN entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. V 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delievered unto them.

II Peter 3:17 beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, FALL from your own steadfastness.

Hebrews 3:12 lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in DEPARTING from the living God.
