Default Sunday Sermonette

Good morning all, and welcome once again to the Church on the Net. God has blessed us with some much needed rain and wouldn"™t you know, my lawn mower went down so have to go get a new one tomorrow..boy, a new computer now a mower...
I been reading about Abraham and came to these verses and it struck a nerve in my old sinful body so lets look at them together and see what it has to say to us. But first please continue to pray for one another for healing, and any othe needs you might have..Remember, "The fervent pryers of a rightesous man availeth much", so don"™t Give up..
Father we thank you that you do hear and answer our prayers..sometimes it"™s not what we wanted but you know what is best for us so we thank you for all you do...now father may we open our hearts and let thy sweet Holt Spirit have full control that we may glean from this text what you would hav us to know..We pray I Jesus name and for his sake, Amen..

12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. Genesis 19:12-17 KJV.

Lot was being watched out for by Abraham and God.i'm sure you know the story..Lot was Abraham's nephew and according to the New Test. he was a saved man. 2 Peter 2:7-" And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished"

Abraham knew that the place that Lot called home was a very wicked and immoral place.. it seems to me that we are reliving Sodom all over again..Homosexuality and adultry and fornication of all tpes is rampart all over the country and not many seem to care.. but Lot was his nephew and sought to help Lot through his intercession with the Lord. friends that's what we need to be doing, instead of condemning everythingwe should be trying to educate them..God had compassion upon Lot as the angels literally had to pull Lot from Sodom. Lot tried to convince his future son-in-laws to leave, but for whatever reason they thought he was joking. too many of our young people today think God is a big joke and are not worried about going to hell..a lady told me the other day, she said whien i asked her where would she go when she died..she laughted and said,"Well i guess i'll go to hell to be with my friends."there are no friends in hell, and she will be eparared from God and everybody..boy i don't want to go to hell, do you?Lot is taken from the town and told to not look back and to get to the mountains. Yet, Lot again conversed with the angels and God allowed Lot to have God's best choice or Lot's choice for living. In each case, the Lord allowed Lot's choice to be taken with serious consequences. Lot's wife dies as she takes one finally look back at Sodom and is turned into a pillar of salt. she just had to have one more look a sin and it cost her her life..As you read the rest of this chapter, you can see what living in a city without scruples can get into you and affect the choices that lay before you. Even today, we live in a time of much immorality and wickedness. This can affect us as it did Lot and his family, but if you are child of the King, then you have the Holy Spirit abiding within and willing to give you the necessary insight to do right and to honor God in each of our actions. Allow Him to guide your paths and i betcha you'll have a much better life..don';t let the old devil rob you of life eternal with Jesus..I ask you, where will you be when you leave this old sinful earth, Heaven or hell..think about it..
Father thanks again for your Son our Lord and Saviour, Jesus the Christ, who died on that cross that we might live a victorious life here and someday be forever with him in heavenand it's in his precious name and or his sake i pray, Amen..
