Duct Tape or a Nail ?
A man dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter meets him at the Pearly Gates and says, 'Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in.'
'Okay,' the man says, 'I was married to the same
Woman for 50 years and never cheated on her,
Even in my heart.'
'That's wonderful,' says St.Peter, 'that's worth two points!'
'Two points?' he says. 'Well, I attended church
All my life and supported its ministry with my tithe and service.'
'Terrific!' says St.Peter.. 'That's certainly worth a point.'
'One point!?!!' 'I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans.'
'Fantastic, that's good for two more points,' he says.
'Two points!?!! 'Exasperated, the man cries. 'At this rate the only way I'll get into heaven is by the grace of God.'
'Bingo! 100 points ! Come on in!'
We often try to fix problems with WD-40 and duct tape.
God did it with a nail.
AMEN...

Sorry fellows but the Bible says ita little differently..
Matthew 25:31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Nice post Chuck, no danger doing to much for the Lord, but there is a danger of not doing enough, I have heard that testified in church several times.
Not trying to hi-jack Kosherboy's thread but I just saw that I have been meditating on in those scriptures Chuck. The Lord can truely open our minds from time to time.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
That is saying that the fire was prepared for the devil and his angels. Which means that fire was not made for us, I cant tell you what a positive feeling I am having right now.
From time to time you will run into someone pretty down, weather a Christain or not. I will tell them hell was not made for you, and God has made a way for you through Christ the Lord. The devil wants to see you there not God, truely we can make it, as Paul said if we keep the faith and finish our course. I hope to do enough to be accepted as he did.
Now ..there is a grace that teaches our hearts to fear ......that worketh His will in us ......that causes us to hate and abhor sin.. .......that sets us free indeed ......that gives us ears to hear His voice ......that causes us to hunger and thirst after righteousness.. .....that enables us to know Him as a Father and best friend.
If this is the grace that you all refer too..I say Amen
