Tithing is an act of faith. It is the result of the law being written in our hearts. Everything we have is on loan from God. Even our breath is in his hand. If we believe that God can and will supply all of our needs, we have no qualms about tithing. One who has his trust in himself and has his confidence in worldly things will always have a problem with tithes and offerings.
Wasnt tithing a law in the old testament? One could argue thereare alot of laws that we do not use that are from the old testament
Reguardless if you go to church and its a house of god and the preacher needs money to self sustain it and keep it running what ya gonna do? Its almost like public access television, just not as bad.

I agree but what is the correct way to tithe? Some say 10% some 15% other 10% plus a love offering, others say tithe no longer applies. Is tithepart ofthe law? Does it apply to gentiles? Who do we give our tithe to?

I think each person needs to decide what level they tithe at. This doesn't mean you're right or that you shouldn't tithe more but it at least gets you on the right path which is to tithe to support God's ministry.

I may be wrong, but I believe the word "tithe" is derived from "tenth". Meaning, give God the first tenth of your harvest. This, I believe, is a guideline for the minimum one should give. Often, in my own financial life, this gets scary, but I believe I need to give God what is right, not what is left (over). It is a deliberate act of faith on my part, because I need to trust God to provide for me & my family. And, you know what? He's rarely early, but He's never late!!

I agree Vizsla Vince ....... and here is how I see it. Tithing is a personal thing. Everything we have is Gods. Not ours, Gods. So we give Him nothing ..... What we get is what we TAKE.... If God blesses me with 2000.00 every two weeks, then ideally that entire 2000.00 is His. I take what I want out of it.... If I take 1800.00 of it, then I have left Him His tenth ( a Tithe ) ..... I can leave Him 1000.00 which is 50 %. But the minimum I should leave is the 10 % Tithe. If I want to leave Him ZERO, ....I can ..... I can never leave Him another $$$ and He will do just fine without me, but how will I do without Him ??
Tithing or giving is an act of respect and obediance. Each and every man is convicted within His own heart, and it is not for anyone else to judge us and what we give, but if you are never storing up any blessings with the Lord, in His storehouse, then how do you expect Him to be able to bless you when you need it.
It's kind of like God is a Christian savings and Loan ..... If you give God extra all the time, then He has it waiting to give back to you when you need it.... Of course He could give to you regardless of wheather you give to Him or not, but why should He??
But it is a personal choice, and it should be whatever God convicts your heart of, that you should leave Him. But 10 % is a minimum.
