If the Bible in Proverbs tells us to advoid mockers of God, and folks who make a mockery of sin..should we partake with them by watching them in our home. ..inviting their words to fill up our home..and certainly a baseball game is harmless..until the advertizers paste thier seductive car and beer ads in your face..or have we grown so luke warm that it doesn't even phase us..so luke warm that we laugh with Jim Carrey , Seinfeld and all the rest of the cackling , foolish servants of the world...We no longer have T.V. in our living room..It's in our closet for the hurricane days.Our mind is the battle field and thier is no reason to give Satan more ammo than necessary..We are to have ears to hear what God is saying..how can we know God's will when our minds have been so conformed by the foolish mocking and seductive propaganda of Hell.Our ears will certainly get dull of hearing when we are being conformed by this world and it's values...Yes, TV has made us snicker at sin...and lose our fear of God..my friend sin is no laughing matter..Don't take the suffering of Christ lightly..oh yeah..we've all heard the excuse.."The movie may have a little rough language but it has a great plot."[&o]"Know ye not that a little leaven leaventh the whole lump?"
2 Cor.6:14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
I think it's even more insidious than Chuck portrays. One of the things that bothers me considerably is the portrayal of parents as idiotic no-nothings. How can we be expected to raise our children appropriately if they are watching hour after hour of parents being portrayed as irrelevant and annoying goofs?
And it's not a new phenomenon. Check out "Lassie" reruns. Little Timmy is continually disobeying his parents in order to accomplish some "good cause." Why be surprised when our kids expect to be able to call the shots if they feel justified in overruling our decisions because we just aren't competent to make decisions for them?

You're right Chuck, there is lots and lots of trash on the air waves. I surely am more selective of what I watch, not because I am afraid they are going to influence me, as I find most of the trash on T.V. very stupid and boring. Even the news with their liberal twist makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Most Christian T.V. shows make me sick, (not all) no wonder our society is in such disarray. Parents need to wake up and smell the coffee and she what kind of trash their children are being bombarded with.
i know for sure my parents really do know nothing...but i try to respect them just the same...i dont really think you can blame tv shows as much as parents that let their kids watch such dumb tv shows... i mean, entertainment is one thing, but young minds are WAY 2 impressionable to just let em watch anything they want. I know my lil sister has learned way too much from that stupid disney channel, stupid feminist tv show... just kidding, but on a more serious note, i think Nickolodeon and disney are the worst...not to mention they are all just dumb shows...
Here's what I do instead of watch TV...I got a 5 1/2 and this 7pounder this morning..why watch a fishing show when you can be out there enjoying ..a fishing show..

Very nice area you have there for fishing. Nice fish as well! I don't watch much TV really either, and I'm only 23. Between fishing/hunting/field work, etc I stay pretty busy.
