Default surprising observation

In studying the Tabernacle,I have been enlighten to many truths that I had overlooked all these years. Here is something I had never noticed in 40+ years. Only a select few Levites, were allowed beyond the Vail. Although Levites, few ever were allowed to see the Golden Candlestick, the Table of shewbred, or the Golden Altar of incense. The light of the Candlestick representing the light of God's revealing Spirit necessary in the understanding of Spiritual things, or the mind of God wasn't made available to all. Here is the suprising satistics, Numbers 4:46-48 gives us a figure of 8,580 Levites appointed to typical service. Exodus 28:1 sets only 5 of those in sacrificial service. That relates to ONE in seventeen hundred chosen. Two of those were killed because they offered strange fire. That leaves ONE in every 2,800 Levites appointed. Remember that there were 11 other tribes that didn't even get to minister in any compassity. Only ONE out of the three surviving priests were allowed into the Holiest place once each year.

Is it strange that Jesus said, "Few there be that find it"?
Is it strange that the "Church" is called a "Little Flock"?

How does this type and shadow have its fulfilment in the New Testament?

That's pretty interesting, I bet Alex has a good perspective on this.

Matt.7
[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and
few there be that find it.

"Many are Called ,few Are Chosen" Even the Cohens who were allowed to go Beyond Curtains into the Holy of Holiest were Chosen, So be Glad and rejoice that you in christ are able to see what no other man was allowed to see, The very Presence of The Elohim.

In Lev 21:17-21 No one who had any defects could approach the Holy of Holiest or do service of any kind.

But In Hebrew 4, It says " Let us boldly approach the throne of Grace when we are in need, So In Christ, God has opened the Holy Of Holiest for us to receive inmidiate help, something which many Christians do not know or appreciate.

I feel it's something to think about that only eight people survived the flood. Of all the children of Israel that left Egypt only two men (Joshua and Caleb) are specifically mentioned to have crossed over into the promised land. In the days of Sodom and Gomorrah only one family was spared.
Like Reb says . .
Matt.7 [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
In this day of false prophets, disobediance, and complacency, following the congregation could be a serious mistake.

KB; I had not thought to connect this to the threads on "sinners?" and "are we righteous?", but there appears to be a clear connection in the qualifications for ministry. Not that which is spiritual is first, but that which is natural. Is my reasoning correct here? The Levites couldn't have a natural defect, (Old Testament)but we have begun in the Spirit,(New Testament)so if one is naturally, or physically exceptable, but has a defect of sin, is he disqualified from ministry because of the sin in his life?
Also those in Old Times who were physcially exceptable, had to be washed, and atonements and sacrifices made before they were allowed to minister. Is this showing (as I believe it to show) that unless one is washed and made clean by the atonements and sacrifices of Christ, he remains in sin and is disqualified from ministry. I would like your imput for my personal benifit.
