Default roller coaster ride

Does anyone feel that they have a roller coaster ride with their relationship with God and Christ?

Fred,
as you grow in Christ the roller coaster effect becomes less and less. When I think of the roller coaster ride I think of Romans 7..18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can"™t. 19 I want to do what is good, but I don"™t. I don"™t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. 20 But if I do what I don"™t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.

but lets don't stop here..Paul goes on to Romans 8 and tells us by the Spirit we can have a more consistant life.

Romans 8:11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. 13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

God bless,
C7

Actually no. My relationship with God is very solid. And that's really true for our whole family. I think it was true even before I knew about it, starting way back when I was conceived. He gave me a mother who was willing to give up her family and her youth to give me life. And he gave her a family who took her in and others who helped her take care of me with no reward for themselves other than knowing that they were following God's commands.

In your heart you know what you are supposed to do. If you follow that, God will be with you.

I agree 100% with you Chuck. I have a wife that I thank God for everyday. She works a full-time job, gets my 3 children to all their activities when I am working and loves the Lord with all her heart. To many out there who dont know how to keep a relationship holy. To many self centerd marriages. If they dont get along a couple times they call it quites and are out dating they next weekend. Let no man seperate what God has put together. DLG God bless you. You are an setting an example that is Christ Like!

I discussed this with my pastor once. He told me that I was doing exactly what God has called me and given me the talents to do.

Try to understand the I have a very simple faith that doesn't go about questioning all the time. Huntingirl89 said once that I'm "insanely intelligent." But my faith doesn't come from my intellect. It comes from a deeper place.

I asked my mom once how she decided that it was wrong to abort me even though her parents rejected her because she refused. She told me she "just knew" it would be wrong.

It seems so to me guys. I even promised my husband I would obey him and I meant it. But I still have that goal of graduate school and becoming a college professor because it looks like God has given me those talents and that calling. And my husband is with me all the way on it. God is always with us, my husband, my daughter and me.

DH, if you're referring to the challenges in life, those just give you more opportunities to grow closer to God. I'ts tempting to think the world is about us or revolves around us but it doesn't. Rollercoaster rides in life are temporary but being in heaven with God is forever. God bless.
