Default what happens to children who die?

I was just curious to what your thoughts are on what happens to children or infants when they die? Also, what about the people who never heard of Jesus? My girlfriend isn't a believer at the moment, and we have been having a lot of discussions about the bible, Jesus, and so forth. She asked me this question and I did a little research on it, but it sure is a tough one. I also ask that you pray for Elizabeth in that she would mix the teachings of the bible with faith and that God would reveal himself to her. Thanks everyone.

I have thought about the same thing. They get laser beamed straight up to heaven no questions asked. My question is, Does God send them back for another chance to grow? We are all here for a reason. Do you know what that reason is?

I believe that children go on to be with the Father when they pass. Mat 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. I don't believe their sent back for another chance. Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Yes, I agree with Leaf, and I will also add ..... as to why we are all here..... There is only one reason why we are all here .... We are here for the glory of God. We are here to know Him, Love Him and Praise Him. Thats it in a nutshell......

God Bless

Alright thanks. I agree with you guys but I just want to add that we need to know about the alternative (dark side) because God does not want a bunch of robots, he wants friends. I think that because he is so loving, he does not want to lose any more of his friends (children) Also, even a 90 year old is one of his children. We are all so young!

Sorry that I cannot recall a lot of scripture to point these things out as to why I reason the way that I do. My memory is not all that great but I am reading and seeking our Lord Jesus Christ.

For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

Yes the Body is unconcious , but the soul is either in Hell or Paradise.
You can't twist things like that, it is sinful.

You might suggest to her that the Bible is a great book but it's okay to read it with a dose of common sense. For example the story of creation in Genesis is totally at odds with research.

Have her read this forum. Just about everyone here has his own concept of what the Bible teaches and can post Bible verses to back it up.So she shouldn't feel uncomfortable about doing that herself.

Good Luck!

Concerning your girlfriend...get her to read the entire New Testament BY HERSELF..I had a similiar situation..My wife already had a degree in Philosophy when I meant her..I simply ask her to read the New Testament ...She thought it would be just another philosophy book..No sir..the Bible is living..She read it in about 10 days and God saved her..She had read many books but she had to admit..the Bible is unique and it does reveal Jesus..Let God reveal Himselfto Liz...too many times our good intentions do more harm than good..I read the New Testament in3 weeks..I had no idea what I had read..and God still saved me..because of the POWER of thegospel alone..

Concerning the children..and the age of accountability..I didn't think the Bible acually mentions any age of accountability UNTIL last week..I found what may be an accountable age..and it's 20 years old LOL ..I'm being somewhat serious here.Let us look at the Word..remember the trouble Israel got into concerning the spies spying out the land...and how only Joshua and Caleb were allowed to enter in...Well, God swore that no one ..not even Moses would be allowed into the Promiced Land who was 20 years or older..After 40 years when all the folks over 20 died...Israel was now allowed to enter into the Promiced land..I agree with the rest of you intheir opinion..God is love...He did say concerning children.."Such is the Kingdom of Heaven." The Jesus I know is very kind and gentle..he is not weird..Virtue flows from Him...and blessed are all those who truly know Him..There is another side of Jesus spoken about in Revelation...and that is His wrathful side..reserved for sinners and the ungodly..

Unclezege

There is a verse in Revelation about those whose names have never been written in the "Book of Life". It raises some possible implications as to when a name is written in the book. Depending on your assumptions, the idea of Baptizing babies may not the thing to rely on. Also there is a verse in one of Paul"s letters (I think) that say"s the children of a mixed marriage are justified by the mothers faith.

The answer may not be clear cut.

Thanks
