I don't have time for a long answer, but to sum it up IMO would be, a failure to walk in the Spirit.
[/blockquote]

Huuuuum, I can't find that commandment snooky ! LOL

Thats the gospel according to Snooky. Here is the passage that I was thinking of. The Spirit is mentioned no less than 19 times in Romans 8. Here is the first 16 verses. The first verse sets the stage, the time is NOW, not in the future. There are two ways one can walk, after the flesh, or after The Spirit. Here is what it says.
V1 There is therefore NOW no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but atrer the Spirit. V2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus HATH made me free from the law of sin and death. V3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: V4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. V 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. V6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. V7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: For it is not subject to the law of God, neither in deed can be. V8 So then they that are in the flesh CANNOT please God. V9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man HATH NOT the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. V10 And if Christ be in you, the body IS DEAD because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. V11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. V12 Therefore, brethern, we are debtors , not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. V13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye SHALL DIE: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, YE SHALL LIVE. V14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. V15 For ye have NOT RECEIVED THE SPIRIT OF BONDAGE AGAIN to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba Father. V16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

No man can serve two masters, he will either serve the sinful flesh, or serve the Spirit of righteousness. He will serve self, or serve God.

Pss.51:1-5

[1] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
[2] Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
[3] For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
[4] Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
[5] Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Sin in the Bible is , breaking the law of God-Romans 5:13 Now that you are in Messiah, the Law is written in your hearts, How can you break it then ?
Rebellion against God, or lawlessness-1 John 3:4 If you are in Christ there is no rebellion against God and the Law lives in you.
Moral impurityPsalm 32:5 If you are in christ ,there is no inmorality that can dominate your soul
Evil thoughts and evil deedsMatt.28:5 How can you have evil thoughts if the Spirit of God lives in you ?

IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME AT ALL, Maybe I was brought up different, but I can not remember ever breaking any of the 10 commandments, I was just brought up that way, that doesn't mean Am Perfect it just means anyone can keep them.
Why do Christians have so much trouble with keeping Holy ? This is a legitimate question.
I don't mean to be judgmental it is what I see, people continuing to fall back to their former state and trying to find a justification.
Is sin like drugs and alcohol that the urge stays with you all your life ? I mean it explain that to me.
I mean I don't look for the opportunity to sin, I just don't.

Interesting post KB. I got some flack for a similar answer a while back to the same question. But looking at the Commandments, I just don't really feel all that sinful. I'm even subject to some rules that other guys here aren't, like the requirement for weekly mass attendance, ban on contraception, and a few others. But hey, I work hard at fulfilling my responsibilities as a wife, mother, and student. I don't know how other people live that makes them feel as though they are wallowing in sin, but I just can't relate.

Exactly ! The Law of God is not difficult to keep when you have the holy Spirit within you, when I kept the Law on my own it was a battle as I found temptation everywhere, when I accepted my Messiah all that burden was lifted and now I just live the Law, I don't know if you understand?

So to me the law has become the target fulfilled, Am the arrow ,The Holy Spirit is the archer , Jesus is the bow, and Am on target,I have reached the perfection of the Law.

I understand what you mean, many preach freedom from God's law but you get no freedom from man's thoughts of what sin is.
Sin isgoing againstGod's law, or missing the target of Holiness, I know this is all chinese to some,LOL

As I have said before, man does what man WANTS to do. He does what is in his heart. When he only has the knowledge of good in his mind, and evil is in his heart, Guess which one triumps. The mind doesn't have a chance, the abundance of the heart wins every time. Ye must be born again.

That leaves a lot of people out of the kingdom, who think they should be allowed in.

That may be true KB, but all will have the same opportunity to enter the strait gate if they desire to do so.

Thenarrow gate is living a life in the image of Christ. Living it by the Spirit and in obedience to God. The wide gate is a life of doing what you want. There will be some who sneek in by living life how they want but justifing their actions through grace. But God will recognize them for who they are and they will be thrown out.

ray; Looks like we see this the same way.

man does what man WANTS to do.

The wide gate is a life of doing what you want.

I see few who are willing to take up their cross and follow Him. Where He leads me I will follow, is just a little kids song and not a commitment for mature adults. IMO self is in total control in the lives of far to many christians today. Never the less I live, yet not I but Christ liveth in me is good reading, but not a reality for most.
