It appears that there is an undeclared yet widespread idea that the Old Testament scriptures and the New Testament scriptures are not on equal footing when presented for doctrinal proof today.
The New Testament declares in its writtings that all scriptures were given by inspiration of God. It also states that Holy men of God wrote as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Jesus declared that not one jot or title would pass away from Gods word until all be fulfilled. Has everything in the Old Testament already be fulfilled, or is there yet prophesies of the future yet to come to pass? Enoch prophesied of the Lords coming with ten thousands of his saints, from before the flood! I am of the belief that we are still looking forward unto the blessedevent.
If the word has not passed away, then comes the question, Have some of the scriptures lost their power and authority in this present day?
It has been said that everything written in the Torah has a prophetic and also a historic significance, Is that a true saying? The New Testament teaches that the Torah, the prophets, and Psalms were written for our learning in the New Testament times. The New Testament says that they were a schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ. The New Testament writer showed them to be a shadow of things to come in the future, New Testament times.
How much truth is found in this statement?
The New Testament is in the Old Testament concealed and
The Old Testament is in the New Testament revealed?
Is there any portion of scripture, either Old or New, that doesn't in some way contain a truth that applies in some way in, or to,our New Testament walk with God?
The problem is a certain denomination puts the book of Acts ahead of all other books in the Bible. They believe that Paul and the apostles teachings were more important that Jesus Christ Himself. If one ignores this kind of thinking, the old testament and the new testament do total up to the entire bible and all is God inspired and without fault and all must be used.
There was only one Holy man that ever walked the earth. All of us children are sinners.
SA, Who were the "Holy men of old" that wrote as they were moved by the Holy Ghost? They were before the Holy Ghost was given according to Jesus. What is meant by "be ye holy for I am Holy"?

I believe he was referring to Jesus Christ as the only "true" holy man who never sinned. All the others have sinned.
They believe that Paul and the apostles teachings were more important that Jesus Christ Himself.
What portion of the scripture was written by Jesus? Luke wrote his Gospel as well as the Book of the Acts of The Apostles. What sets his Gospel above the book of Acts? Is any part of the scripture more authentic or binding than another passage?, Or do we live by every word? I'm just trying to get a handle on your doctrine, so I know where you are coming from.

I don't have a doctrine other than what the scriptures teach. And I believe that from the front to the back of the Bible is to be taken together with no scriptures more important than any other.
Now I was referring eariler about some of a certain denomination that focuses more on the book of Acts than any other book. That is their "fall back on" book.

Don't be scared, if there's a denomination whose doctrine is to place Paul's or the Apostles teaching's above Christ's or believe the book of Acts is the complete Word of God to the exclusion of the rest of the Bible, then I'm sure they won't mind your mentioning their name. Either I've never heard of this denomination, or you don't know what your talking about.

All I can say is WOW ..... What a shame and what are we coming to.
I bet I can guess the subject of that reference......
And as a final note..... there is only one judge, and I'll take my chances answering to Him .... as I do not believe anyone here is qualified for the position.
I was raised Baptist , with a Catholic Mom, and I now attend a Pentecostal church .... and no where in any of their doctrines, nor in the Bible, have I found any denomination condemned by Jesus....
I will not judge any man for the church he attends ( as long as it is a God Fearing Christian Church -- not something satanic ) ..... I will however praise the Lord that he is at least going to church, attempting to find the Truth in the Lord Jesus Christ.
