Be a Pastor of a mega church, like Lakewood Church in Houston, TX , where Joel Osteen is the Senior pastor, then it gets so big that they buy the Compaq center and remodel it as a church, and Mr. Osteen changes the website of the church to JoelOsteen.com.
It seems that he is making it about himself now, instead of the Lord. Does any one else see or sense a problem with this?? Is it just me?? It gives me a really bad feeling..... and if you listen to his tv ministry program, you will hardly ever hear him mention the name of Jesus.... It is all just about us feeling good... I do not believe he is preaching Word .... but instead just fluff that misleads folks....
But maybe it is just me ..... but I don't think so.....
No is not only you, I met the man personally and shook his hand, he is a very cold individual,IMO.

man this is ironic, i worked for compaq for 8 years in houston, great job and an awesome company to work for, while living out there i also attended lakewood chruch (once) it was a very big turn off for me, the place was full of posers and cliques, i was very disapointed[&o]..looking back i probably took the wrong attitude/approach concerning the other people there[&o][&:]IMO alot of people struggle with who they are and who they need/want to be[&:]including myself[&o]
i guess i'm just one of those wierdos that prefers content over packageing
i don't have an opinion on joel osteen,but his life (just like the rest of us) will be judged by the JUDGE one day

Yes, it is wrong. He is definately not sending thr right message through those actions. Another one that I canthink of alsois Kenneth Copeland. Neither one of those guys are anyone that I would respect and choose to listen to.
But then again, I have just begun to read the bible so I will keep it simple for now and stay away from tv evangilists.
You never know, he may not have been involed with the change in name of the web site. They may have just changed the name because his name is more recognizable then the church name. I see where you are coming from though and it doesn't look very good to me either.

I walked out of a Mike Murdock meeting over twenty years ago. People like Murdock and Osteen will not go away as long as people are willing to hand over their money to them.
