Default Sunday Sermonette

Howdy everbody and i hope this finds you all well and ready to receive a blessing..you know God's Word will bless you no matter who presents it..been a rough week for me but God has seen me through it and everything gonna be alright..I know that there are others who need our prayers so let's pray for one another..

Father thank you for another opportunity to study thy Word and may it help someone today...in Jesus name i pray, Amen

1 And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.

2 And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.

3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?

4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

6 And they could not answer him again to these things. Luke 14:1-6 KJV.

All too often we want things laid out for us, so we don't have to think. It would be nice if the Scripture stated in black and white, every little descion we have to make but it doesn't..It doesn't, but God has opened and closed doors for me and I know that I am to be here. We each like living in our own little world and we are very comfortable in that world. For the child of God, this does not require any faith on our part and it leads us to depending on ourselves and not the leading of the Holy Spirit. the bible says, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" Prov.3:5-6. if we do this we will have successful and a more abundant life.. For the Jew the Sabbath was a very special day, but Jesus realized that the day was created for man and not the other way around. Yes, they were to take time to honor and glorify God in their actions on the Sabbath, but when things need to be done and you have done all that you can, then do it. We see someone in trouble, we don't wait till the next day, but go and help. Jesus wanted those who wanted to walk with God to realize that there is an openness that can only come from God and you and I will not find it with anyone else! If you and I are seeking to honor God ,not just outwardly, but from our inner being, then as longs as the action is not stated thou will not do this or that, we can assist and be involved. Jesus wants you and I to realize that God is truly the God of living and not the dead. yes my friend,"For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith" romans 1:17.. God gives us the choice of how to live our lives but most of us want to do it our way...the bible also says,"There is a way which seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof is the ways of death" Prov.14:12...let's put aside our wordly ways and follow God's way..

Faher thank you for your precious Word, may we read it, meditate on, pray about it and then apply it to our lives..thank you for being there for us..and as always, if there is one here who is lost may they come to you for our wondeful salvation. in Jesus name i pray, amen..
have a great week-end and tell some one about Jesus.

I think we all battle this to greater or lesser extents. "Self sufficiency" is not viewed as a bad thing, in fact many aspire to it . . . .It's so much in my nature to depend on my own understanding based on what's convenient to my world. Our sufficiency, if not placed in Christ, and our "understanding" if not dependent on the Holy Spirit, then our self sufficiency is a pit fall unto us.

Sorry Bro Wayne, I grabbed on to one of those "messages within a message" that you have spoken of.
