well April has come and gone, almost, and one third of 2008 is history..wow time flies dosen't it? in just a few days ,apr. 30, i'll be 79 years old, been married 58 years and have 3 wonderful children. folks, i got no complaints as we serve a wonderful God, Amen?
Faher thank you for all you do for us, you are so good to us as undeserving as we are, yet you sent your Son to die a terrible death for our sins that we might spend eternity with you..thank you..and father, we are a needy people as there are some here who are discouraged and downhearted and don't really know which way to turn..i pray your sweet Holy Spirit will speak to their heart and they will realize there is a way and that is trust and obey, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour and it is in his name and for his sake i pray, Amen..
37 And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.
38 And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.
39 And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
40 Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?
41 But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.
42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
43 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.
44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. Luke 11:37-44 KJV.
i wonder how man people we know are like thes Pharisees, who act like Christians on sunday, go to church, pay their tithes, pray and then on mon. they are back into their old sinning ways..I call them pretenders..remember Matt.7:23, the verse that has been quoted many times here, Jesus speaking, "And I will profess unto them, I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work inquity". my dear friends there will be many that hear those words when they stand before Him on judgement day..so sad..
here Jesus compares himself or his teachings to a light that turns away the darkness of sin..and if we don't walk in that light it is bad news come judgement day..as ou can see in verse 40, Jesus can see through their hypocrical ways and He calls them fools..
God wants people who do not act outwardly one way and being different on the inside. As you can see in our Scripture, Jesus is very upset with following the letter of law and inside there is this big mess which no one sees but God. Everyone else may think we are a spiritual giant, yet when push comes to shove, we are smaller than anyone would believe. For you and I, we are not in play that affects only those watching or are we putting on masks to hide something, Whatever we do, let's do it to glorify God.. God knows when we are allowing the Spirit of God to have control and the difference in our lives comes out that what you see is truly what you get. We see this in the choosing of David as King of Israel. We God choosing a person because the inside was truly what God wanted others to see. Give God the opportunity to work in our lives and there will be a difference that can not be explained by human activity alone. God wants to bless and wants us to be a blessing to others. Allow the Spirit to direct each of our paths.
thank you Father for your wonderful Word, the word that will give us an abundant life and peace and joy..yes we will have storms come through and dark clouds will hover over us but you promised that your "grace will be sufficient to see us through."
and Father it is always our prayer that if there is one here that don't know you as LORD and Master may this be their day of salvation..we thank you and love youand in Jesus name i pray ..Amen..
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain
Trust and obey, for there"™s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
Refrain
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
Refrain
But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
Refrain
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
Or we"™ll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
