to share this in this new post, just in case you have missed it.
thanks .... MET
I need to say this again, as it would appear that our own pride and arrogance is killing the move of God in this house.
It is written:
That a man must work out his own salvation.
That what is right and goodfor one, may not be right and good for another.
or
What is bad for one, may not be bad for another.
That we need to recognize how things that may be right for us, may cause a brother to stumble, because it iswrong for him, and he gets confused. Thus we should use descretion when we are with that brother ( or sister).
We know that not everything is good to all, and not everything is bad to all. So why do we act jealoustowards a brother, because they are allowed certain things without guilt? We should not despise a brother, or sister, because the Lord has not convicted them of certain things ( like eating meat sacrificed to idols ), and we are convicted.
If you do not feel the need to use musical instruments, wonderful ........
If you do feel the need to use musical instruments, wonderful .......
But you guys and gals are some very knowledgable people, concerning the bible, yet you are turning out just like the Pharasees ( sp ? ) and condeming people for things that don't matter one little bit. Our Lord does not love your worship any less with or with out instruments. We have become that "den of vipers" Jesus spoke of, because we are walking around judging folks left and right.
Now, should we judge anything? Yes, the Lord says to render unto Ceaser what is Ceasers ... thats why we have Laws......
and to render unto God that which is Gods. ( thats why Jesus said to obey His commands to see the Father ).
We are to judge according to scripture, those sins ( laws of Christ ) , that could / would bring the corruption of the Church ( Christs Bride ) and it's people. We are given instructions on dealing with brothers and sisters who are in sin, and choose not to repent.
But truely I say this, we are killing our witness. Like the Pharasees ( sp ? ) before us, we are losing our way and missing the mark. Please stop worrying about things that do not matter, and instead use your abilities and knowledge to help bring lost brothers and sisters to Christ.
God Bless you one and all.
Do you have anyone in your life or whomyou know that you are not sure they are saved?
Why?? Why should anyone you know still be lost? Why would you not know one way or the other?? Is this not what Our Lord has instructed us to do??
I do not mean to offend, but I have just returned from my Father-in-Laws funeral, and not one of his kids could say wheather or not he was saved, and 2 of the 4 profess to be strong Christians. Whats sad, is that I have known him for 5 year, and I cannot tell you either.
Have you talked to someone, who is lost, about Jesus today??
I apologize if it sounds like a rant...... it is not.....it is a pleading. I cannot believe I let him go without ever asking if he knew and Trusted Our Lord Jesus. What was I thinking ?? I did try to ask him as he lay there, unconscious. I do not know if he heard me, or if mentally he could understand, or even if he did and was trying to respond....I can only pray that he understood, and said yes.... He was 73, and he was a good man, but good does not get youto heaven.
I don't see your post as a rant at all. Your final point tho would make any of us uneasy I would think. How many of us has not dropped the ball in our witness for Christ? I can think of a few folk that I wish I had of witnessed to and did'nt.
It's a grave responsibility and times such as this that you've just gone thru makes that crystal clear. Leading souls to Christ should be our first priority with whoever we meet.
We need to keep our zeal for Christ and if it's cooled off we need to get back to our "first love". Lets start now and purpose to be a witness to all we come in contact with.

Michael, this post reminded me of a quote that was in our sermon notes a few weeks ago by C.T.Studd:"Let us not glide through this world and then slip quietly into heaven, without having blown the trumpet loud and long for our Redeemer. Let us see to it that the devil will hold a thanksgiving service in hell, when he gets the news of our departure from the field of battle."
As christians we need to have boldness for Christ, in our every day lifes like Paul, Peter, John, and asso many other did in Gods Word, but I too, fine myself falling short of the ability (the boldness) that I know I already have in Christ. I pray that God will give christians a clear mind so as to stay focus on Christ and Gods Will for us. And not to become idle, inactive, caught up in the business of todays hectic world.
Good post, Mycondolances on your loss and my prayer's are with you.

I didn't see your post as a rant either. I could see the love and care that you put into this post and I appreciate that. I can see that you love God very much and that your cup runneth over.

Thank You to all for your understanding and kind natures'.
Alex,
I am not sure what to call YOUR posts .... I will confess up front that I am not as studied and learned as you in MANY areas of Gods word, and I am surely behind the Eight ball when working out details of the Mosaic law. But I will say that I often find myself under conviction to study the things you post about in an attempt to gain proper understanding. I will publicly say that I respect your teachings, even the ones I do not fully comprehend, and the teachings of several others here in the forum as well. I enjoy coming here to discuss, learn, and gain understanding of Our Lord, and yes, I have been convicted to change my beliefs on some matters, because someone was kind enough to show me Gods word concerning those matters and teacha proper context, history and meaning of them. This is what Christ Commanded of us, and to Love thy neighbor as thy self requires us to want to see others saved, just as we embrace the thought that we ourselves are saved.
Thank You for serving Our Lord, and being a vessel of His Love.
