Default Are You Drawing People to Christ?

Or pushing them away? Do our posts encourage other christians to participate and post or do they think we're too harsh with each other and our opinions? Are we really walking the walk as christians on this board or just talking the talk? SometimesI wonder what a lot of the people who read these posts without posting themselves actually think?

Folk need to be mature andserious enough not to let flesh get in the way. Outside of that, I think this is a good place to see what doctrine holds up to scrutiny and what does'nt. Also, there is a lot more brotherhood on here than one might imagine.

I think I'm guilty of getting too much into the argument and forgetting that you win people to the faith by example.

I'm going to watch that from now on.

I don't want someone to be turned away by my attitude.

Thanks for the reminder Calhunter.

God knows I love my fellow Christian brothers and sisters. I have driven 1,000 miles out of my way to have lunch with a forum brother and his family. I have made the effort to meet others and some more than once. I have helped other brothers on this forum when they did not have any where to turn to.

The way I see it is you come on this forum Asking questions, not making Statements![8D]Some membersget their feathers ruffed cause others take their Kindness as a Weakness. That's one of my weaknesses and constantly asking forgiveness for that.

I have no annamosity on other Religions or Denominations, that's their Prerogative and Choice. The way I understand it, is, If they Believe, Be Obedient to His Commandmentsand Follow Christ, they are my Christian brothers and sisters. In what ever Custom or Language they choose!!....

I am sure, I am the one who make's the statements and don't ask to many questions. Chad, is very good at asking questions. Sometimes, questions are never answered. Sometimes, a question can't be answered " Like do you beat your wife all that you want to?" I am not saying Chad asks these kind of questions. I am not saying this is why I don't ask questions. I just don't have that Talent, Education, whatever it takes to do it.

I hope the posters who visit here see something that they have never seen before. And a Seed is planted in their minds from a point that I have made. Are maybe I have watered a Seed and someday it will grow into a New Born Babe in Christ. I always thought if I could talk to someone long enough that they could see The Truth and would Obey it. I no longer believe that, after talking to Souls for years and NOT One has said. I never looked at that, that way before. I am going to be Baptized into Christ. If they did I would probably on here 40 hours a week

I also want to say I mean no one any harm at all. I am doing what I believe the Bible teaches "Go into all the World and Preach the Gospel to every creature,he that believes and is Baptized shall be saved, He who don't believe will be lost" Praphrased Mark 16:15 &16

i'm with you on that Rebel Hog. It doesn't matter to me the small differences of denomination, a believer is a believer and if we have more believers than we did yesterday, that's progress.

I Cor. I:

[10] Now I beseech=Beg you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
[11] For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
[12] Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
[13] Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
[14] I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
[15] Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
[16] And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
[17] For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
[18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

I agree that Divisions are wrong. Is a Denomantions, Division? I think so! We need to do what Christ says and give him all the Praise. Why do you think Baptism was mentioned here? Was it Important? Did paul Baptize other people? Was it done to get into the Church of Paul? The church of Crispus? The church of Gaius? NO! Then why do so many Baptize to get into the church of their Choise?

He didn't want to baptize others just because they were looking at all wrong. Thinking, Paul should get the Praise! Paul knew it was The Christ who was to get the Praise. I am still talking about Division here but, I want you all to see it was not Baptism are Paul causing the divison it was the People.

I think several people are pointing out similar thoughts. We are not going to convert somebody or convince them by our own efforts or understanding. We do have an opportunity to make a good impression with our degree of Christ-like behavior but it is God's Holy Spirit that will draw people to accept Christ and believe in salvation. I try but don't always succeed in representing Christianity well. I hope that I am not pushing somebody away by shoving something down their throat or speaking and acting in an unchristian manner.

CalHunter I agree 100% the last part of the Quote in Black.

Cal..The Red we might have some disagreement on how the Spirit works in our lives. What I do know is their is only One Spirit Eph. 4:4 I have been taught that we, Recieve the Gift of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:38 and that gift is the Word of God/ N.T./Bible. What are your thoughts on this?

It's a little hard for me to explain but I can consider all of the intricacies in life, our planet and the universe and logically deduce (at least my opinion) that it is extremely unlikely that everything would be so ordered and organized. I can read the gospel and think Jesus was the most logical person I've ever read and his answers are absolutely brilliant. I decided to accept Christ as my savior and believed that he died for my sins. All of this is logical, analytical and makes a lot of sense (common or otherwise) to me.

However, it is when I am filled with the Holy Spirit that I find little nagging doubts are cast aside and I absolutely KNOW that I am on the right track. It is a truly incredible gift from God and is available for every believer who chooses to accept Christ as their savior and pray for God's spirit. This probably doesn't explain what I mean completely but I honestly don't think it is possible for any of us tocompletely describe God's mercy and blessings.
