Default I am greedy

Beginning last Sunday and over the next few weeks
our church is in a study of greed. Most specifically,
as it pertains to our possesions. What we want.
What we desire. One of the points that was driven
home: considering the 7 deadly sins, it is quite likely
that admitting to being greeding, in so many word, is
the one least likely anyone would admit to. You just
don't hear many folks saying, "yeah, I'm kind'a greedy,
but I'm working on it". I know this has always been the
case for myself. If there was ANY sin I would have tried
to beg off, it would be greed. But after just a little study
and self examination, it is so obvious that greed plays a
HUGE role in my life.
Yearning for things that I don't need.
Lust in my heart.
Craving recognition for myself.
These things just scratch the surface of feelings, thoughts
and emotions that are SELF driven. I long ago realized I am
not the best judge of myself. It's just down right SCARY how
far off base I can be.

If you happen to think about it while in prayer, I need all
the help I can get over the next month or so in this study.

Thanks and God bless,
PK

Default RE: I am greedy

Good post! A guy at work always called me Greedy because I wanted to kill a Monster Buck and I would pass Small Bucks up. Maybe he was right? I like attention, anywhere. Why, I don't have a clue, maybe Greed?

This is a good post but I don't like it[:-]

Well, my father always taught me to let people think you ate grits, but you eat steak...In my 69yrs of life I have never worried about what others had or about what people will think of me. If I want to wear Coveralls to church or Downtown, so be it...I can afford any vehicle out there, but I drive a Honda Accord & a Dodge Ram. The Lord has Blessed us 10 fold over the years.

As a matter affect, I thinkthe wife, me and the son have to much! Many things we have, we can do without!

My father was one who Loved to help those in need and I followed inhis ways. I have to know if it is a justifiable case, cause I wouldn't want anyone to take my Kindness as a Weakness.

Deut.15
[10] Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.

[11] For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
