No sir.,
I shot it at a public WMA 30 miles away..The Green Swamp.

After a 1 1/2 mile hike into the swamp..I hear for the first time EVER ..the gobbling of a male turkey..I built a quick camo blind..and got out my Primos Freak..I returned the gobble with some yelping..After about 25 times of going back and forth..mixing mine with some cutting..it seemed his gobbles cam e from 100 yds to now within 50 yds..My gun is now up..It's been along 45 minutes of calling..then I spotted a dark shadow and then it disappeared..My shotgun is now on my cheek..and my eyes are clued..I see the turkey ducking and weaving through cypress trees..I've never shot the shells which I have in my gun.They are #4 Remington Nitros..About 25 yds out he steps into a 3 foot wide opening.I squeeze the trigger..he falls down dead.I had about 10 pellets in the neck aea..and only one in the breast..

I can't beleive it..I hike back and the man at the gate does the measuring..my wife and I just got done cleaning it..5 packages of breast meat and legs and carcass for the soup pot.
God is wonderful andI thank Him for setting me up .I wasn't even goingto go..but I kept feeling the inward urge to go..and I'm glad I did,

Yes sir,
And I honestly had no plans of hunting..Gas prices are terrible..The round trip is 60 miles..I had done no scoutng and really don't know what I'm doing except got a 10 miunte video Strut made for me at his house. I talked to Strut last week..Shirley has been good since Christmas..How are you doing Bill.

I really didn't know how often to call..so everytime he called I returned the call with something like.

Yelp yelp yelp yelp...
Yelp yelp yelp

I was answering him for about 45 minutes before he came in..My call sounded funky so I unstrapped it off my leg ..It made a louderand clearer yelp sharp yelp sound..that's when he came in...I also use the Primo Cutting Striker..



That was it .There seemedto be 3 different gobblers out there and a few owls as well.

I honestly thought about selling my shotgun in the paper today..and I was reminded that a big part of hunting is meditating on the Lord.not just scoring...It's scary walking through a Florida swamp in the dark..I listenedto the Word drivng to the area..and stopped short of where I was planning in going..TOO darn scary..I was wnating to walk anothe r1/4 mile but stayed put.I was up on a small hill and set up.The mosquites were horrible and my Thermo Cell took longer than normal to fire up..Then for the first time in history I heard the sound of my alarm clock.{ Strut talked me into buying a Wild Turkey alarm clock} so I was familiar with that gobbling sound..My hope increased big time when I heard the gobbling...When calling..I was listening to my inner man becasue I didn't know when enough was enough when calling..
Anyway..thanks brother..my wife is a 5 star cook and is making wild rice and Osceola Turkey soup.I was ableto get 5 breast mealsas well for the freezer.

870 Super Magnum Remington 3 1/2 inch..
I think I'll keep her..I had 10 pellets in the neck and 1 in the breast..he died on contact..at about 25 yds.
