Default How far off track do you let someone go? Part 1

How far off track do you let someone go before you try to correct their thinking? I try to follow Paul"™s example and instructions. Paul said he became all things to all men in order to win some over.

To those under the law he became as one under the law. Refraining from certain foods and observing regulations. Paul even went so far as tocircumcise his helper to appease those who observed the law.

To those who understood their freedom, Paul became a free man, eating what he wished and not insisting on circumcision or following other regulations.

To those weak in faith Paul says he became weak in faith. (Paraphrasing slightly)
I assume to those weak in faith, Paul may have explained the he too suffered temptations and anger and fear just as they did. Paul used his faith to show them that in spite of the fears and temptations, hisfaith in Jesus allowed him to carry on telling God"™s word. To those weak in faith Paul refrained from exercising his freedom so as not to be a stumbling block to his fellow man.

To those with a strong faith he showed his own strength of faith by tearing down arguments and positions contrary to Jesus"™ message.

To those who were new to God"™s word he fed infants food and kept his message as basic as needed.

To those who were mature in God"™s word he fed the adult food of the deeper meanings of God"™s word and plan.

To those who steadfastly refused to listen Paul simply shook the dust out of his cloths and moved on.

To those willing to listen even a little, Paul repeatedly suffered hunger, beatings and cold in order to share the good news and God"™s blessing with them.

End of part 1.

Thanks

p.s. Thanks for the welcome back Leaf River Mac.

Hey Brother Pirk, It looks as if this could be a timely thread. Galations 6 comes to mind and 1 thes. 5:14. Mostly, I like Romans 14 . . .Recieve one week in the faith but not to doubtful disputations. I don't think we should let a brother or sister go off track at all without becoming concerned. The thing is tho is not to add ourselves into the situation as part of the problem. . . .remember Jobs friends.
I think that if we really want to help people/someone, then we should be really connected ourselves. We should have fasted and prayed for God to operate thru us, and to give us the discernment and the words for the individual.
Now, if your speaking of someone who rejects Christ or is of another faith that you don't agree with, all you can do is to do as in the previous paragraph . . .but you really need to be careful that you don't become the main reason that they won't hear the truth. I have made some bad mistakes while calling myself witnessing. . . .usually when there was just too much of "me" in it. Sometimes, if we're not careful, we will minimize Christ and maximize our particular church or understanding. You gotta give God control, we all have a walk to walk and understanding to gain . . .you don't always get it all in a day.

Mac I agree with you about Job"™s friends, but more to the point. At what point do you start correcting Job"™s friends?

Good to hear from you Alex the Hawk.

I am glad the Kubota is working out for you M T Hands. It is hard to go wrong with a Kubota. You may find my current project interesting. I am in the middle of designing a poor man"™s hydraulic band-saw sawmill.

Thanks
