Well, I canunderstand where you're coming from Mr. Fife. But I accept the Words of our Lord where he told Peter, that he would build his Church on this Rock, namely Peter,and whatsoever he released would be released and so on. (I'm sure you know the passage.) And Peter, in accordance with his authority passed this on to his succesors, right on down to our current leader, Pope Benedict, who is a good and faithful servant of God.
This started, I know, back when the people who took my mother in when she refused to have me aborted, convinced her to have me baptized. And then I met my husband who never once pushed me to do this but led me by example. And my priest who made me feel that God was just waiting for me. And then my mother, looking on, by my example, followed her husband into the faith.
Coming to the faith in true innocence and acceptance is something very wonderful and I hope someday you will be able to experience it.
