I would argue with that assumption. Why would God allow something in His word that was not to be understood? Many today that do not understand Revelations will say that. I am certainly not one of those that does understand it completely, however there are many that have a good understanding of Revelations. Again, how one translates a certain scripture is vast. We've proved that on this forum.

i will argue both sides of the coin here. yes God's Spirit that lives inside of us inspired His Word and therefore can give us understanding. However, the Bible is also the creation and the revelation of a Infite all knowing God. If I could figure it out completely, then one of two things must be the case, either one I must be as all knowing as God, which can't be the case, or either God must be as limited in knowledge as I am and therefore would cease to be God. Don't misunderstand me, I am all for the studying of scripture and loving the Lord with "all our minds" but we must acknowledge that there are some things we will never understand as they come from God, who "ways are not our ways and thoughts not our thoughts" Though this doesn't give us the excuse to be lazy and not study our Bible and seek to know Him as much as possible.

Well here's why I asked this question the church I go to we have a Minister who has gotten awards from the head of the church in are region. This Minster always thought a little to highly of himself and thinks he is some super brain who thinks he is better than God and most likely thinks he knows more than God to,a while back the elders of are church had to have a talk with him that they were being told by people they would never come back to the church so long as he was still the Minister. This guy act's nothing like a man of God I remeber that when the church came down to give him his award everyone was making fun of him the whole because he was acting like the most mildest and meekest man you ever seen and putting on a real big show for the guy there to hand out his award to him,and as soon as next sunday rolled around he was the same old big headed guy as he ever was.Now when the guy was there to hand out the award tomy Minister I went up to sayHi and they were bothstanding there and my Minister knows I'm notscared to ask a question if I want to know the answer,So my Minister pipes up and sayHi to and tell's the the guy that was there to hand out the award to him not sure of his name and say' to the guy this is my good friendWade and he always has some real thought provoking questions for me and askedme if I wantedhim to answer anything today for me,I could to he was just wanting to put on a big show for the award guy.So I asked him are we supposed to be able to understand everything written in the Bible, and hesaid no were not supposed to be able to understand everything written in the Bible there are just something's God does not want us to know about the Bible,so I replied to him what do you think about this scripturethe I read to him was 2 Timothy 3:16 and it reads. All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness.Well he did not know what to say and the award guy say's to my Minister if all scripture is benefical for teaching how can it be that there are something's about the about the Bible that God does not want us to know about the Bible. All I know is this for sure I could tell by the look on Ministers face he if he would have be alone with me he would have kit right square in the you get the idea where,he was steamed.I did not ask the question as away to trap him I just wanted to see what he would say.I do not know what everyone else thinks but I feel we are suppoed to be able to understand the whole Bible,I remeber a scripture saying something about searching for it like fine pearls and it will be give to you,I know it was talking about understanding the Bible.

It seems that there are some things that only some can recieve: Mat 19:11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. Just a thought.

Preacherbooney I do not think that ifanyone didunderstand the Bible fully and correctly that would mean we know as much as God,I know I do know eveything about the Bible. For example I remeber there is something in the Bible and it says something about God having know begining and no end and I remeber that it also goes on to say something to the effect that man can not comprehend that God has no begining and no end,so all I know is this even if me being a man and did fully understand the Bible the way God intended I still would not know as much as him.I've thoght before about how could God have no begining and know end but I can not grasp that why well look at my Great Dane when I got him he was a puppy so I know hehad a begining and was not always existing.

i understand what you are saying, and you are smarter/prouder than i am if you claim to know and understand everything and every word of the Bible completely. I'm not saying we can't understand the Bible, but we will never fully understand everything until we see God. Again I am not advocating claiming ignorance and just saying well I can't know everything so why study anything, but I am saying that God is beyond us, as He must be to be God. Is he knowable, absolutely. Can we fully understand Him and everything about Him, absolutely not. Not trying to start an argument or anything just stating.

I'm not trying to say I know everything the Bible has to say.I just feel that the whole Bible is meant to be understood.Like maybe there are things that you will understand about the Bible that I do not.All I'm trying to say is that I feel my Minister is wrong when he says there are just something'd God doe's not want us to uderstand about the Bible. Also I feel why would God put something in the Bible if he did not want us to understand it.Think of it like this let's say someone worked for me in a machine shop and the guy was just starting out and I had to go away and called him the night before and told him I wpould live a list of thing's I needed him to do,if I left him a list of things to do and I knew that he would not understand some of the things on the list and would not know how to go about completeing these task's because he does not have the skills to complete the task's would that not be pointless, that why I feel that God wants us to be able to understand the Bible fully and again I do not claim to fully understand the whole Bible.I just feel that if God were to put stuff in the Bible and know one on earth could ever understand the message and would be pointless,I remeber something about the Bible saying God is a God of order,I feel that if someone does thing's in an orderly fashion it usaly means there's a point or reason to what there doing. And I'am in no way trying to implie God does pointless things I just used some reasoning simple reasoning to get my point across and view ont the matter.
