Default Sunday Sermonette

Good morning all and welcome to our service today..as most of you know i spent 12 days in the hospital with swollen feet and legs and a bad breathing problem and i also have acute congestive heart failure and my kidneys are not funcioning as they should..but they say they got it early and with medication i should improve..thank you all for your prayers, as i really appreciate them..and i know there are others here who need prayer so let's pray for one another..

Father thank you for another opportunity to study the word and may someone be blessed today..in Jesus name i pray, Amen..

1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
2 I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,
4 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.
5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. Psalm 39:1-5 kjv.

We believe we have so much time and yet, it can be seen as stated above in verse 5,"a mere handbreadth". God has given us each an amount of time and we need to be sure that we are doing what He has laid out before us. none of us know if this is the day that God has called us home. I have preached the funeral of a two year old child and a seventy two year old man.. but Praise God for the believer, there will be no more sorrow or pain, but for the unbeliever, it is the start of something they will never be able to get away from! when i was in the hospital those 12 days, i had the opporunity to witness to several of the nurses..most said they were saved, some wouldn't say either way but one young lady said , no i'm not saved so i guess i'll go to hell..what a sad thing to hear.. David, the writer of the above Psalms, realized that every day and in fact every breath was a gift from God. He wanted to understand what God had for him and then make sure he was moving along that path. that is the way it should be for you and I who have called upon the Name of our God through His Son, Jesus Christ. some may spend many years here and for others it may be but a moment, but if what we were given to do and we accomplish for tasks, then those words from the Lamb, "Well, done" can and will be heard. God places within our paths those who do not have the same confidences as we do and we are to be mouth and hands for God into their lives. we need to take advantage of every opportunity that we have to tell others about Jesus.. we must make sure we have no sin in our lives which is unconfessed and once that is cleared up, then listen to the leading of the Spirit and walk the path He has for each of us.Oh my soul, i'm so ashamed of how little i've done in my 79 years for him who suffered and died for me and you..dear friends, we never get to old to stop serving him..call someone, send a card but better yet go visit and tell them you love them but better yet, tell them God loves them..

Father thank you for loving us with such a deep love that you would send your Son Jesus to die that we might live forever in your presence..Father if there is one that is lost as that young nurse, may they come to know you as their Lord and Master today..in Jesus name and for his sake i pray, Amen..

Amen! Good word Brother. Home is where the heart is, our thoughts and desires should be consumed with great expectations of our final destination. I can't help but smile when I think one day, I'll be home.

WOW !! It's wonderous how the Word can sometimes go by unnoticed and then all of a sudden hit you like a ton of bricks.
Thanks Bro Wayne, your sermonettes don't go into a void, but to edification. Bless you brother.

Amen, great message motor. It is so good to have your Sunday messages back on. And thank you for witnessing to your nurses. The hospital is a fertile ground for witnessing, as an RN I know how receptive patients are, but you have reminded me I also need to witness and be an example to my fellow nurses and other co-workers.
