Default drug questions

I was out with some friends the other night they were passing around the drug called "weed". I passed on this did not smoke. Now is it really a sin to do drugs? I am not trying to say its okay. Think about it say take something to get better if you are sick. Its still a drug but the only difference is one is legal the other not. I am sure few of you have tried weed yeah it makes you feel good but so does a aspirin. What are the thoughts on this?

The most basic thing I can say about this topic is that Jesus said to render unto Ceaser what is Cearers , and render unto God what is Gods.

This means, that you are to obey Gods Commandments about the moral and ethical and religious ideals. It also means that you are to obey the laws where you are, and if weed is against the law, then it is sinful to use illegal drugs.

And from a religious standpoint, why would you want to use a drug that would alter your mind, thoughts, and physical abilities? And what if you use the drug, and it causes you to be less inhibited, and do something that you would not normally do, that could very well be sinful?

And finally, the Lord says you are not to do anything that could cause a brother or sister to stumble. You may not consider it a sin, but someone else watching you may consider it a sin, and if they see you doing it then they may believe it to be o.k. and then they wind up getting hurt, killed, or breaking some terrible law, or even getting deeper into that or even worse drugs. If that were to happen, then that would fall on your shoulders on the day of Judgement.

Ask yourself, would you do it if Jesus was standing next to you? You are supposed to conduct yourself at all times as though Jesus was right beside you..... because if you are truely a Christian , then Jesus is " IN " you, and your actions should reflect that.

Bye the way, there is a difference in taking medicine, and using illegal drugs, and I don't really even know how to react to someone who would make such a statement...... I would first give you the benefit of the doubt and ask how old you are......because there is a serious maturity situation going on here.

And if your friends are doing drugs, I would recommend that you find yourself some new friends.

God Bless

MichaelT. Took the time to give you some very good advice. I just want to say AMEN to his post.

I think you need to ask yourself WHY you Feel Bad? And WHY you would want to FEEL better?

I am going to assume you are about 13-15 years old. This should be the time of your life. I also know its a hard time in your life. Maybe you are interested in Girls, Maybe not? Young men have a tendesy to PICK on each other. With Study, Grades, Hunting, Friends, Chores, MONEY, Clothes, and if you are Older and have a Girl friend and a Car you go more Pressure[:@]Just do the best you can, and if you want to do better YOU can!! If you want to make Better Grades? Ask to be Tested and find where you are. I was always behind and School is HARD to catch up Believe you me! This is just an EXAMPLE.

And the thing I want to impress is that Beer, Whisky, Can Lead to Weed, Weed can lead to DOPE, Dope can lead to METH....Meth is the worse Drug I have seen people on in my life time I am 60. Its so Bad they are Looking for a CURE for it.

I guess the last thing I can say is if you feel LOW go the the Doctor and Talk to him and get some Medicine that is not ADICTIVE.

God Bless you, and I am so glad you are here and didn't take the Drag of Pot

Talk to us and we will try to help!

I am sure you got some PM's

Be very careful of this. Right now in my area,a rural area, if you go to a medical doctor there is a good chance he will send you to a county social program where a nurse just can't wait to prescribe a drug. And most of these are addictive. If you start feel good after a month she will up the anti. Basically replacing one drug with another. The Insurance companies make out because they want everyone on pills. It is cheaper. The pills may or may not be good . But the problem is that the person has not even talked to a shrink to find underlying cause. Take must think and take care of your self . Many cases, where people commit suicide or worse, hurt someone else. Commit a crime and you will go to jail even if you need medical help. It is a screwy world. As far as what drugs you can use i don't know anything. In my time alcohol was the thing and it did a number on me and it is legal. TAKE CARE OF YOUR SELF
push the envelope and you will pay.

I started to make a new Post. So I would not Highjack Deerhunter1224's Post.
I think it ty's in with his thouhgts.

Drugs and Jesus!

I never did drink any. I tryed it, I thought Beer was Awfull![:'(]
I took a Drink of Wine...Not to bad[:-]Segrams 7 in Seven-up Now I could have liked that, I think! However, I was a Ball Player in the 60's and they didn't Drink. RIGHT??? Well not in front of kids anyway[&o]So I just never Drank or Smoked I liked the Feeling when people would say "You don't smoke that great!" I liked that!

I got married when I was 22, and that probably saved me their. Got a Job, Played Ball, till 25 Softball till 35 and Started Hunting, more Seriously at 22, Had 3 kids, Life was a Dream. Wife was always trying to get me to go to church with her on Sunday. WHAT! I am going Hunting, Tears! I didn't care. I was so full of MYSELF. I still like myself, but God, Family, Others, come first.

Enough about that "Fast Foward" to age 30 I would be laying on the Couch Watching T.V. and the Thought would hit me "I am going to die" Not the same feeling as when I just typed it tis moment. I don't kow how many of you have experienced it. But, a Real Gut Check! You can't just make it happen. It's not a Warm Fuzzy felling[:@]But, I would just shake if off and think, get you mind off that! I did'nt believe in God are anything, I thought anyone who did was just Weak Minded.

I was sitting in the Truck at work. And on the Radio they said that Elvis had died. What that had to do with this.I don't have a clue. But, I got out of the Truck to walk down to where they were Laying Asphalt. Where my Boss was and told him I did'nt feel good and my knee's buckled. Another strange Twist we were working next to a Hospital.

As my knee's Buckled "I thought ,I don't have a hope of anything" I thought I was dieing of a Heart Attact. Me and Elvis the same day!!!!They took me to the Hosptial. I checked myself out in just a couple hours.

I still would not go to church with my wife. One night we were laying in bed and she said to me. I think, I will just stop going to church. I don't remember what I said but I talked her out of it. I din't like that Idea at all, Why, I don't know. I was happy notto go[]

The Doctors put me on Valum. It helped but not totaly. and I had such a complex about using it. Everything you read was bad. So a few years slip by and they put me on Xanax it helped for a Few years but I still had Pantic Attacts.

Oh, also at age 30 my wife went to a church out of Town and I drove her, I listened carefully, this teacher was GREAT and so Smart. I obeyed the Gospel of Christ in 1977. The best decision I ever made!

Fast Foward to 50 I retired from my job and they put me on Paxil. The Attacts have stopped.

My point is no matter if its the Paxil are the retirement. I feel Better! At 35 I had Cancer, at 40 Catracts, 48 By-Pass(CABAGE) 55 Prostate Cancer. I have taken a lot of Medicines over my last 30 years but none to give me a BuZZ. Thru all of this I still have been able to function, not be a Danger to others.

For some reason GRASS is not safe. Are you in Control when Smoking it? Is the Government protecting the Tobacto Growers? Could Pot be as Legal as Camel's? I believe we must trust the system. Unless it go's against God and his word.

God put Adam to Sleep for his Sugery. I believe it OK for me to be asleep during mine

In my opinion prescription drugs are only okay as long as you are taking them for the right reasons.

Some of the drugs prescribed can be very addictive and you need to be very careful. I have been given pain pills after my kids and having teeth extracted and I can't stand them. They make you feel like you are not in control of your body and it didn't seem to matter if I only took one so I decided not to take them and to just take tylenol to take the edge off of the pain.

There are some things that I feel very strongly that doctors are over diagnosing like ADHD, ADD, depression, and anxiety.

I say the best thing you can do is when in it doubt pray about it to find out.

If you're high, then you're not sober. This is what the Bible says about being sober.

"Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch
and be sober...But let us, who are of the day, be sober,
putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an
helmet, the hope of salvation."
1 Thessalonians 5:6, 8, KJV

"A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife,
vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality,
apt to teach;..."Even so must their wives be grave, not
slanderers, sober, faithful in all things."
1 Timothy 3:2, 11, KJV

"But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober,
just, holy, temperate;"
Titus 1:8, KJV

"That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in
faith, in charity, in patience...That they may teach the
young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love
their children...Young men likewise exhort to be sober
minded."
Titus 2:2, 4, 6, KJV

"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and
hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"
1 Peter 1:13, KJV

"But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore
sober, and watch unto prayer."
1 Peter 4:7, KJV

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as
a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"
1 Peter 5:8, KJV

You raise a good point. I work in a hospital and can tell you a very high percentage of the young people that come in thru the ED are on antidepressants. The docs hand out prescriptions for them like they were candy
