Default The Lordship Of Christ

Full submission to Christ will recognize Him as both Lord and God :

John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

John 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Mat 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Mat 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

In the Gospel of Luke, before relating the parable about the men who built houses on the rock and the sand, Jesus asked an important question: "And why call ye me, Lord Lord, and do not the things which I say?" (6:46). Certainly, the Lordship of Christ in a persons life is the difference between his spiritual success and failure. Calling Him Lord but never following the instructions that He gives is quite a contradiction, to say the least. If He is indeed Lord of our lives, we will carefully attend to His every word.

Default RE: The Lordship Of Christ

In his sermon on the day of Pentecost, Peter clearly stated who the Lord was: "Therefore let the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ." (Acts 2:36). There is only one Lord and He is certainly Lord of all Lords!!
Even the Israelites of Moses day knew that the Lord was God: Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else" (Deuteronomy 4:39).
The Scripture also reveals the Lord as being strong and mighty in battle and as the King of glory: "Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory" (Psalm 24:7-10).
Pilate ordered an inscription for the soldiers to place upon the cross where Jesus was crucified, and it revealed Jesus' identity to the world. "And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS" (Mathew 27:37).
As Jesus hung on the cross, the chief priest, scribes, and elders mocked Him and declared, "He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him" (Mathew 27:42). However, Jesus knew His identity and His mission, and He refused to allow the taunting words of the unbelievers to stop the overall plan of God in providing for us such a great salvation. Surely, He was the Lord of lords, and King of kings (Rev 17:14). John also recorded a vivid description of our Saviors lordship: "And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh an name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" (Rev 19:16).
We should consider ourselves priviledged to know the Lord of lords and the King of kings. We have entered the realm of a very elite group . . .those who have recieved the marvelous revelation of the mighty God in Christ.
One day soon, Jesus Christ will return for His bride. In that day, every knee shall bow to Him, and every tongue will confess His lordship! "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:10-11).

Many people believe that there are more than one person in the Godhead . .even so, the Word of God clearly reveals that one day every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is truley the Lord. In fact, Paul clearly declared in his writings to the Ephesian church that there is only one Lord . . ."One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, and in you all" (Ephesians 4: 5-6).
The OT also firmly established the doctrine of one Lord, and the law of Moses obligated parents to teach their children this truth . ."Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might" (Deuteronomy 6:4-5). Moses declared that it was their responsibility to ensure that their children understood the precept of worshiping and serving the one true God.
One of the problems facing this present day generation is that often parents don't teach their children Biblical truths. Parents can't allow this responsibility to fall upon the shoulders of teachers within the church, because it is mostley the responsibility of the parents to instruct their kids.
As long as Israel worshipped the one true Lord, they recieved the blessings and protection of Jehovah God who helped them defeat their enemies. However, when they turned to other gods and worshipped idols and built groves, they began the downward steps of backsliding and lost the blessings and protection of the Lord. Often, when they were in trouble they turned back to their only source of hope. . the one true living God.

What a tragedy to have handled the Word of the Lord . . .to have witnessed miracles, and then to miss out on the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. It is possible for this to happen . . .Jesus warned that our prophesying, casting out devils, and performing many wonderful works does not guarantee that our spiritual house is in order.
Professional Christianity, entertaining preaching, and elaborate programs seem to dominate many so called christian churches today as they seek to to attract the masses. However, if we miss the most important ingrediant . . .a genuine relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ thru the new birth, we will hear the master say "Inever knew you" (Mathew 7:23). We needs be sure that we line up with every aspect of the Word of God. It does not matter on this earth whether we recieve recognition or glory . . .what matters is that He recieves all the glory and honotr due His name!
This dispensation of grace is rapidly closing and we should concentrate on making our calling and election sure. This is not the hour for a person to live on the fringe . . .living just as close to the world as possible. This is the time to live as ferverently for Christ as possible and to let absolutley nothing hinder us from seving Him faithfully.
