2:1
For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
2:2
But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
2:3
For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
2:4
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
2:5
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloak of covetousness; God is witness:
2:6
Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
2:7
But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
2:8
So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.
2:9
For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
I wonder how many of us called have strayed from those words? I think everyone called to preach should read these words daily. I include myself. Last night these words hit me like a ton of bricks, too many of us are careful not offend our listeners, however we have been called to preach the TRUTH.

2:1
For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain: I hope not.
AND this is how it must be done..Just as Peter got out of the boat..his face like flint toward Christ..we must speak to others in away that pleases God alone.
2:5
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloak of covetousness; God is witness: Yep..if you are not going to do it right.then be quiet..we can do more harm by watering down the gospel..must be dead to self and above the manpleaser stage.
2:6
Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
2:7
But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: yes sir..the people who had the greatest influence on me were holy people who spoke to me in gentleness..I respond well by love..most people do.
2:8
So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. Amen..be willing to go beyond the Word..be like MTHands was in his testimony..help the person out with their physical need as well..WE are his hands and his feet.
2:9
For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. Don't miss this one folks..what is Paul saying here..He worked a job in order to not fit in with the money preachers..

If this scriptural set of guidelines are used when posting here, (preaching and teaching), how would it be received? What would be said of the poster? Would it only be proper and in the "right spirit", if was in agreement with our pre-conceived notions and ideas?
Good post Rev.
