Default I must teach evolution next year.

Florida just barely won by a vote yestersay to pass a law that beginning in 2008 that we must teach evolution..However; the evolution guys are ticked off..becasue the 2008 text books call in "The evolution theory." I agree..that it is a theory. ..or a lie..

What they don't realize is that evolutionist have always been sneaking in their theory to bring doubt in the childrens' minds that there is a God. They use words in the books suxh as millions and millions of years ago.

On every occasion when we read such propaganda I'll stop and say ."Is that fact or opoinion?" and my class says opinion. I love science and believe that science compliments God as a wonderful creator.

What bothers me..are the other teachers who are not Christian who fill these sponges with garbage that bring doubt to the existance of God or promote premarital sex.

and according to Scence how old is the age of man??

I know according to the Bible Adam was created about 6004 B.C.

The age of teh earth I don't have a clue..I'n surely not putting more stock in mere man over the creator God..

Chuck, the day will come when you and your family will be scared to admit that you're Christians!

i think that the earth being 4.6 billion years old can go hand in hand with Adam being created about 6004 B.C, the earth being created in six days doesn't necessarily mean that God created the earth in 6 24 hour days. With an omnipotent being, there may be no concept of time, or, time may be so insignificant that millions of years comes to a "day"...its like the big bang, many bible thumpers are 110% against the big bang, well, who is to say that God isn't the one who made the Big Bang happen and thus created the world? i don't know whether or not i support the theory or not as I am ignorant to many of the ins and outs, but the correlation between science and religion can be drawn in many cases, people just have to willing to accept that they are not completely separate entities

Just do your best Chuck, as I'm sure you will. Personally, I don't see the schoolhouse as a place to teach ANY religion--that includes the religion of evolution.

However, as you are going to be forced to mention it, my suggestions would be sure to let the students know that evolution is a THEORY, and no more or less a religion than any other (faith based belief on something that cannot be conclusively proven); be sure they know the difference between a theory and fact; and with a little research on the internet you can find numerous pages that show major flaws in all of the "scientific" dating techniques.

Let them know that not one of these theories can be proven or reproduced, that the "dinosaur"shows on t.v. like Discovery Channel and National Geographic are animated (cartoons) from the imagination of the producers, no more and no less than a Flintstones cartoon; that most "skeletons" in museums are actually primarily man-made materials and the design based on a few bone fragments plus someone's imagination, etc.

Shouldn't be too hard to get the point across and stay within the boundaries of the law.

I don't think that teaching a particular theory requires one to be a proponent of it, or even like it for that matter. For example, there are plenty of people who think that Marxism is a joke, but teach sections on it in political science or economic classes. Plenty of Christian ministers teach comparative religion courses where they explore non-Christian religions in depth.

The devil is in the details and I do not know what is going on in Florida.

Probably the same thing that is going on with Social Studies In New York. I would suggest teaching known science, Biology, Physics, chemistry etc. is about all this generation can suck up. And from conversations I have had with some they sure won't even be able to spell evolution say anything about remembering what they have been taught. Anything other than known science is speculation. I have never found anything about known science that contradicts Christianity.
