Default To my catholic friends..

Hi Steph and Remington girl,
Have any of you ever come across a Charismatic Catholic. These are catholics who have had a pentecostal experience and have spoken in tongues.

Here has been my experience with them.In 1976 of October we had a new 2nd lieutenant..Lt. Flynn. I had been told that I was a real messup and I would be departing from the service. I decided to read my New Testament through. This was all taking place at Eglin Airforce Bay..on the woods during a 30 day war game. Everyone here has heard teh story many times..The part I had left out was my catholic friend. Flynn would check up on me 2 or 3 times a day and he would catch me readin gthe New Testament.I was bound and determined ot finish it in the field..He would say little stuff like..you sure are bearing fruit...Isn't God good and stuff like that. I let him know that I wasn't a Christian I was just reading it..He treated me like a dad.At this time he was the only Christian in my company. about 140 soliers.

At the end of the 30 days I was awakened and saw Jesus ...face to face with my eyes open..It wasa sobering experience..and one that I will never forget..I still wasn't a Christian for I knew I could never have the power to overcome my sin..Two weeks later I ran into a Pentecostal who explained ot me that God can give me the same Holy Spirit that he gave the 12 disciples..and then I would have power over sin..2 weeks later while worshiping God alone ,God overcame me and filled me with his Spirit in which I spoke in tongues..

Then, my mom called me and told me to meet David..another Charismatic catholic..I was extremely impressed .He was a walking Bible and witnessed to everyone he meant..So yes..I've had the pleasure of meeting some saintly catholics..David was my best man in my wedding..The photo is David Kline ..last time I saw him he was a missionary.
The soldier is me .I was transferred to The Honor Guard in D.C. after my vision and given 3 ranks..God is awesome.
My swolen jaw is because I just had 4 wisdom teeth pulled.I learned the power of fasting from David..He was a vegetarian and fasted daily ...because he was trying to get his wife saved.

And...my closest male friend at school is a catholic..He is the art teacher.
There are many devout women Christians here ..I meet with them for prayer on Thursdays before school starts...Serious Christians don't look at labels..You can easily tell them by their fruit..When I meet another beleiver I NEVER ask them what church they attend..You should be able to tell they are a Christian after 30 seconds of communicating..When I was in Israel most pilgrims didn't speak English..I knew they were devout beleivers by the smile they wore on their faces and their mannerisms when we entered into the places of worship..WE all sang the hymns in our own language..one at a time in order..It was awesome. Heaven will have one language as well..the language of love..

1) What do you mean by Labels?

2) I agree you can tell someone by their Fruit however, 30 Sec.?? The Bible says lay your hands on no man Suddenly.

Just asking is it possiable you saw your friend while messed up? He looks like the pictures that are portrayed of The Christ.

Please forgive me for saying this but its the way I feel. I have a hard time taking Anyone Serious who has Seen Jesus are Spoken to him this day and Age.

Whenever somebody tells me they've seen Jesus, I am happy for them and their blessing. I could take it with a grain of salt and be cynical but figure God will let me know what I need to know about it. It's kind of hard to explain but I feel kind of funny when I doubt the Lord appeared to somebody. That person may very well be crazy or nuts but who am I really to say God has NOT appeared to that person. I think God chooses to appear to all of us and influence all of us in different ways that are personal and meaningful to each of us. I think we, on the other hand, are either smart enough to realize and thank him for it or we can waste our time being cynical and doubting, kind of like Thomas in the bible.

Now the above post represents my thoughts in general about myself and is not meant to describe either Chuck7 or Turkeyfife specifically. I think both are honest in what they're writing and truly interested in the answers. Well, just my .02 here.

That's a pretty bold statement. What if I told you God spoke to me. I guess you wouldn't believe it either... That's fine, I have to remind myself of that at times when I become weak in the flesh. Which seem to be more often that not.

Can someone show me in scripture where it says that Our Lord will not speak or appear to people anymore....?

The Lord has spoken to me many times. Much more than I have listened to him , actually, which I am very ashamed of..... but none the less he has spoken to me.

I know the Lord said he will leave His spirit, The Holy Spirit, to be with us always..... to guide us, to help us..... But I never saw where he said that he would not speak to us or come to us.

The ONLY way the Lord speaks to us TODAY is Thru his written Word.

God cannot Lie! He is no Respector of persons. It makes God a Respector of persons to speak to a few.

IF God Speaks to me? I will get everyone I can find and take a Lie Detcator(sp) Test. Lets say a 1000 People how strong a statement would that be for un-believers? For a 1000 People to PASS the test that God spoke to them? Or better yet they all Saw Jesus. ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN MY SOUL DEPENDS ON IT. Anything I say I can prove!

We have a AG who was a preacher here. His wife was Crippled. I worked with one of the members. They was Slain in the Spirit, Frozen in the Spirit, Spoke with Tongue's they were healing people, seeing Legs Grow. I know the guy with the Short Leg as far as I know his Leg never did grow. The preacher's wife is still Crippled. I asked that preacher about it, he could not explain it. Now someone is going to say She did'nt have enough Faith.
The bible says Show me your Faith by your Works.
This Gal had more than most if not all of them. She would put on the Musicals and Plays for the whole town to see. My friend invited me to the Christmas Play he was the Christ she ran the show. But, she still was crippled. She is a hard worker. I feel bad for people who can't see the Truth. I tryed to teach her husband to no avail.
