Default The Sound of The Shoffar

The Shofar Sound

Part 1 of 3

"And He shall send his angels with the great sound of a Shofar,
and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other." (Final Raptured) Matthew 24:31

"In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall be a solemn Shabbat unto you, a memorial of blowing of Shofars, a set apart convocation. You shall do no servile work." Leviticus 23:24-25 (Roshashanah Feast Of Trumpets)

The sound of the Shofar (Trumpet) is thrilling. it signals a call to hear and obey. From earliest times as a call to revelry, the blast of the shofar rallied the troops, signalled a warning of approaching danger, and assembled the people.

The walls of Jericho toppled following a series of Shofar blasts.
The Day of the Shouting of the Shofar blasts is one of the seven Appointed Times (Moadim) of (Yahveh) Elohim. (Leviticus 23:4 and Numbers 10:1-10) Yom Teruah is remembered and observed on the First day of the Seventh Month of the Scriptural Year. (Exodus 12:2)

The Shofar Sound

Part 2 of 3

Yom Teruah, also called The Feast of Trumpets, is a Mikra Kodesh, a Set Apart (Holy) Assembly.

"Let us not forsake the assembling (for the Holy Assemblies, Moadim/Feasts) of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25

Yom Teruah is a Shabbat, a time of meeting and fellowshipping, praising (Yahveh), praying and worshipping in 's Word in a manner set apart from all worldly affairs. It is a day of rest and seperation from the world.

"The Joy of (Yahveh) is our strength. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Nehemiah 8:10

Ezra, in the 5th century BC restored the observance of Yom Teruah, following the return from Judah's seventy year exile in Babylon:

"Ezra the priest, brought the Torah before the assembly, both men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month." Nehemiah 8:2

The day is recorded as one which included worship, joyful fellowship, instruction from the Scriptures, and sharing with the needy.

"All the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them." Nehemiah 8-12

The Shofar Sound

Part 3 of 3

(Yahveh) instructs us in the use of the Shofar trumpet to commemorate awesome events: on giving Israel their marriage covenant at Sinai, (Exodus 19, Hebrews 12:19), at Jericho (Joshua 6), at the Jubilee of the fiftieth year (Leviticus 25:9), at coronations (I Kings 1:34), at the building of the Temple (Ezra 3:10), at the future restoration of Israel to the Land (Isaiah 27:13) and resurrection victory. (Psalm 47:5)

Yashua told us the Shofar will herald the resurrection of the saints from the dead at His return: "And He shall send his angels with a great sound of a Shofar, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Matthew 24:31

According to Scripture, at the end-time there will be seven trumpet soundings:

"I saw the seven angels which stood before Elohim; and to them were given seven trumpets." Revelation 8:2

Each trumpet introduces a phase of the culmination of end-time events. The seventh focuses on the coming return of Messiah Yashua.

"In the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when He shall begin to sound, the mystery of Elohim shall be finished, as He hath declared to his servants the prophets." Revelation 10:7
