The "United Church of Christ", as the one Barack Obama has brought to the limelight due to his membership, is not in any way, shape, form, or fashion associated with the the "mainstream" church of Christ. Just wanted to sure there wasn't any confusion there.

It's just called "church of Christ" (from Romans 16:16). No national headquarters, no by-laws, etc. Each congregation governs itself, although sister congregations do sometimes support each other for a common cause (missionary work, helping a new congregation get started, etc.).
Just wanted to point that out, as I know that in the past some folks have assumed they were the same--they aren't.
