Default Missouri Hunters and maybe some others

I have been feeding Deer and Turkeys this is my second year. Here in Missouri they are hurting for food. You all probably don't need to be asked anyway. But I just feel I should have said something.

Its something how they find the Corn. They must here other Birds Happy are something. I am a Mile out of Town and 13 Long Beards and 3 Deer are eating 50 Lbs in 4 Days. Not counting Dove's and Squirrles. How much do you all feed who are not Farmers. I hand seeded some Chickory and I hope it comes back this Spring. I am feeding these Critters30 Feet from the house. They are only 12' from my Truck they are very hungry. So if you aren't already, buy some feed and put it off the Road and fill those Craws and Bellys.

Against the law up here CWD. Most in upstate New York don't anyway. They don't digest well and congregate.
Even as a boy I was taught "Do not feed deer"

I'm going thru 100 lbs a day in the swamp. Here at the house, maybe 100 lbs a week. I can't afford to always free feed like this. I plant rye grass, buck forage oats and a little of the blends that have chicory, kale, turnips, and whatnot. It's legal to feed deer in my state but not to hunt over it.
In the summer I feed a mix of soybeans, dairy feed and corn. They don't visit the feeders much in the summer. I also like to keep out saltlicks and calcium blocks.

Same Rules in Misssouri can't hunt over the bait. 10 Days Before Season no Feeding. This year is different NO Accrons(sp) Its hard for me to picture NY and not see NYC. Is the Hunting Crowded a lot of Hunting Pressure? You could put out 100 Lbs for feed for the Birds they like Corn also ;o) If Deer eat it it's not your fault. These Deer were so hungry they were eating the Top out of a Little Pine Tree.

I'm planning on planting clover, oats and turnips on the edges of my yard - Buck Forage Oats sounds like a good choice too. This will help to make them jump the fences that now exist on some of my boundaries. It will also reduce the size of the area I mow! Baiting is legal here - for now - but I've never done it. I've seen deer avoid some of the areas that others have baited. The deer avoiding those areas blundered right into MY set-ups (like I figured they would).
