Default Sunday Sermonette

Howdy and welcome to the Crossroads Church, a place where there are no strangers, just friends that have never met..Isn't it great to gather around God's Word and worship and praise Him and have fellowship with like believers?there are no doubt many in our crowd that need prayer for one reason or another..i know some are sick, some discouraged and some seeking for that joy and peace that can only come from God Almighty..what a wonderful promise He made when He said,"Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and i will give you rest." yes my friends, He can give you rest from the cares of the world, and calm the storms in your life..we serve a wonderful Saviour.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving us and for your mercy you have given us, unworthy as we are..Father , i ask you this morning to touch those who are sick and heal them if it be thy will. and take away those things in our lives that are against your will..we love you Lord and thank you in Jesus precious name, Amen...

22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Heb. 9:22-28 kjv.

Last night i watched the last part of a movie on the life of Jesus..i tuned in when they were beating him with the cat of nine tails and then they put the crown of thorns on his head and the blood was running down his face and they were laughing and mocking him..my heart broke realizing that He was going through all this pain and misery for me, tears filled my eyes and i was sobbing and even hollering at the TV. even now as i type this my eyes are filled with tears..what a wonderful Saviour we serve..When was the last time we thought about what it cost God to provide salvation for us? We know about His Love and have thought quite a bit on how our lives were changed by the man from Galilee, but do we really understand the word sacrifice as it is pointed out to us in Scripture. In verse 22, we see that the law requires the shedding of blood otherwise there can not be forgiveness of sins. This is not an emotional tug at you, but I believe we need to understand that what Jesus went through is nothing like we see in the pictures of Jesus as He hung upon the Cross. The thorns in his Brow were between two to four inches in length. Now I don't know about you, but I have trouble with thorns at ¼ to ½ inch, let alone two to four inches in length. my wife planted something in the corner of our yard and it has thousands of little thorns on it and boy do they hurt.. They did not place something on His Head to protect Him, but put the crown on and then hit the thorns into His head and brow. You see, if we can normalize what is going on, then our actions can be acceptable in our own eyes. Yet, there was the perfect Sacrifice that did away with all other animal sacrifices and in this case, it did not cover, but took away the sin. Jesus became what no one else could do or probably would want to do, yet He left it all in the Hands of the Father and obediently carried out the plan of the Father that each of us might truly live. remember in the garden when He was praying to the Father He said," Not my will but thy will be done." We each have a new year before us and by the leading of the Spirit of God will, we can lay onthe hearts of men and women that we come in contact with, the Love of Jesus.let others see in us His Love and may we truly glorify the Father in the way we act and react to others.

again Father thank you for sending your only begooten Son to die for our sins that we by putting our trust in you can have eternal life with you in that place you have prepared for us.. and as always, if there is one here that don't know you as Lord and Saviour may this be their day of salvation..in Jesus name and for His sake i pray, amen..

AT THE CROSS

Alas! and did my Savior Bleed?
And did my Sovreign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?

At the cross, at the cross, where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away.
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

But drops of grief can ne'er repay
The debt of love I owe.
Here, Lord, I give myself away;
'Tis all that I can do.

At the cross, at the cross, where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away.
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

And now I am happy all the day!
