OK, what is an "Evangelical?"

I keep hearing from the media that the Huckabee campaign is appealing to "Evangelicals." My husband and I fully intend to vote for Huckabee if he gets the nomination. (As you guys know, I won't be old enough to vote in the primary.)

So what is an "Evangelical" and what is the Huckabee campaign doing to court "Evangelicals?"

Does this make Daddy and me "Evangelicals?

for the most part evangelical has meant, Christians who claim a personal, saving relationship with Jesus Christ and believe and follow the Word of God as written in the Bible..but the term now a days is so misused that we don't know whata person believes just because they call themselves evangelical..some are calling homosexual churches evangelical..modernist such asKarl Barth have also been called evangelical despite the fact they deny the faith of the bible..it was sometime in the 50's that many of the leaders changed the description of an evangelical to the "new evangelical".
so there is no clear defination of it now.. if it is brought in a conversation i would make clear my beliefs.. hope that helps..

Definition: An evangelist is one whose vocation is to preach the gospel or "œgood message"� of Jesus Christ.

Evangelical is a name the liberal media has spun, as if it were a bad thing. Jerry Falwell was among the first to be labeled for his Moral Majority Ministry. Pat Robertson and Oral Roberts followed being labeled evangelical right wing radical Christians. (Making our Lord happy, I may add).
The media is owned by left wing extreme liberals, whohave twisted Christianity intobeing a bad thing. They tend to overlook the radical Muslim movement as they are not a threat to their party, not yet anyway, but being a Christian in their views is a bad thing.
Reminds me of Matthew 5: 11-12 blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

IMO, An evangelical is one who claims to believe in the Messiah but yet still carry the Catholic dogma and beliefs along with New Beliefs that say they are not catholic, just a group of confuse believers, IMO
