how does a person get angry and sin not? when a person says that they hear something and it makes them "killing" mad, do you think thats a problem?
when my dad and I are out road hunting, we talk alot. about the bible and sometimes the military and sometimes politics. well my dad has always felt very negatively towards the democratic party. he calls them the demon-cratic party. he gets very very riled about politics. he listens to alot of radio shows such as rush, shawn hanity, oliver north etc, etc.
well this particular day he was telling me some story of some Mexican gang members that savagly raped and murdered a couple of early teen girls in Texas and are getting away with it because they cant be tried in us courts because they are not citizens, about what if Hillary wins the presidency.... blah blah blah. Anyway, i told him that i dont listen to the news or radio talk shows because it desensitises you and makes me mad. He said "makes me more than mad, makes ya killing mad".

I was dealing with this myself this week, but froma different scenario. There is, obviously 'righteous indignation', meaning justified anger at something that is unjust and unfair, or an inequity.Anger is an emotion, so in and of itself, it is neither right or wrong. What makes it right or wrong is if it is directed at something that rightfully should bring such a response, which would lead to a certain course of action that is deserving. I had asked the Lord about such things as if I were to suffer a great injustice to me or someone I love. I thought about the terrorists, those that have , especially, done some truly horrible things.I have heard stories of people who have had family members murdered, and then they go to a judge and ask that he allow them to take in t every person who had carried out the murder, not onlysparing his life, but providing for him, and loving him. I had to be honest and admit tha I wasn't capable of such, and that I didn't see any basis fro suchactions. Yesterday, I heard Dr. Michael Yussef speaking on Romans 5:6-8, where God speaks of His love for us, directed at us while we were still sinners. He initiated eonciliation with those who wanted nothing to do with Him,who were in a stae of rebellion against His ways, and whowere, in actuality ,His enemies--just lik eterrorists are enemies, just like the murderer of a family member is an enemy.Verse 6 says we were stil without strength, powerless, helpless, in weakness as far as our capacity to rectify th eenmity betwen God and man. There was not a thing tha we could do about it--nothing. Yet, God, who i smuch more righteous, just, and innocent than any of us, didn't allow this to stop Hi from loving us--so much that He sent His Son to die for us: to be te propitiationfor us through His very blood. Propitiation is a legal term that simply means justice was served. God's sense of justice toward the very creatures who had caused the separation and breakage in the realtionship, and who were culpable and accountable only to Him,was completely vindicated by His own participation, initiated by the offended, not the offender. In our sense of justice, we sit back and wait for the guilty party to make amends. It never enters our minds to do as God has done. Verse 7 explains that sometimes a man will lay down his life for another good man, implying that it is nonexistent for someone who is evil. But this is exactly what God did for us.
I was God's enemy. I didn't want anything to do with Him. He didn't take up the cross for the joy set before Him,because we were worthy, but in spite of our unworthiness. From this perspective,I do believe that it leaves us with no other choice than to at least attempt to make an effort to make amends, and to love our enemies, even those who have greatly offended. After all, what has been done to us that would be a greater injustice than our sin against God?I understand the time comes for us to take action. God does still bring judgement, but it appears to me that it only comes after we have finally and ultimately rejected His 'peace initiative' toward us.We are to,whenever possible be at peace with all men.Just as teh Lord says, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation--but salvation is first offered. At the very least, even if judgement comes, in tehform of having tohave to take a necesarry course of action that is severe, our attitude should still be of regretting to have to do what is needed. This understanding has tempered my attitude toward those who I would consider to be an enemy, and has changed my perspective considerably. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.I will show mercy on those who show mercy. Judge not that ye be not judged.Go beyond this--love your enemies.
What I've noticed ...why is it that when one may fast ..say 3 days water only does he have no anger ...???
This week I've had many reasons to be mad..but God has showed me alot of your anger is simply what you eat or drink..Caffine can stimulate / excite someone to be way ahead of the Spirit of God ..the reason it says "Let every man be slow to speak , slowto anger...for the wrath of man worketh not righteousness." The Bible also says "Do not learn the ways of an angry man..In my profession ..you can get fired over not controlling your anger. So for me out burst of anger is not an option..I'm talking about dealing with people's attitudes here.
Seeing a young one getting abused..or something similiar..different story..You haveto wheel and deal with that and pray for the strenghth of Samson.
But dealing with stuff on here...this is elementary..Let it roll off like water on a duck's back.
Another reason one may get angry..he is dealing with family issues or health problems and just using others to vent on..
I must confess many of my righteous indignations have simply been 3 cups of coffee...gettng all hyper and stuff. Christians are supposed to strive for peace . Phillipians says"They consider the opinions of others even more important than thier own." When's the last time we've seen that verse demonstarated..

Chuck, we are all going to be judged as Indiviuals and not as groups! Don't worry so much about others and worrymore about yourself, cause as old as you are and still don't know which way to go, now that is something to work on!

Theres a lot that could be said about this. The Bible says in Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
I see where anger in itself is not a sin, but it's what we do with our anger. Obviously we are not to let the sun go down on it. . . . .There's a lot of wisdom in that.
Probably your dad is not literally "killing mad" . . .I would guess not. It sounds like to me that he hates many of the things that a lot of the democrats stand for, and the injustice towards the girl who was raped by the mexicans, and some of the sorry crap that can happen in the military.
But we can take organizations, people, things, and spend so much time and effort into hating up on them until we do ourselves in. . . .or let anger consume us and then find ourselves in court, or worse.
We should be against some things and there is a time for anger , but mostley we are to do as in: Phi 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
I can empathize with you and your dad if it's worse than it seems offhand. There comes a point to where we can hate something so bad that we can become consumed by it. There's lot's of hate groups out there that would take advantage of someone of this type. Carrying hate around is a downhill plunge physically, mentally, spiritually, for yourself and affecting those that care the most for you. Hate is anger turned against yourself.

Anger affects your ability to think clearly. My mother always waited a couple of days to punish me when I needed it. She wanted to make sure that it was commensurate with what I had done and not a result of her anger at what I had done.
