After shooting and losing a decent little buck,..again!!I was pretty down and strongly considering giving up bowhunting for good.Bowhunting is my passion so this was serious..I decided to give it another try.I sat in my stand all day without seeing anything and asked GOD to give me a sign if I should keep bowhunting.Just then I saw a single doe walk out about 200 yards away. I watched her for a while and said to GOD,"I don't want to say that was a weak sign,but for me I need a sign that would be like a good smack in the head" At that exact moment six deer busted out in front of me.Four does ran to the right and into a thicket,one ran to the left and jumped a fence. The fifth one was a nice 8 pointer wich milled around in front of me at about 60 yards for a half hour before disappering into some saplings.I think that qualifies as a slap in the head!!! Proof positive that I should keep bowhunting and that GOD answers prayers, especially if you talk to him like a friend.

I like what you have said. Talk to Him like a friend. So many times we forget that He is approachable----- and sometimes we go to the other extreme and can be too casual with Him. Your honesty to Him is all that he asks from us when we come to Him.Walk in th elight as He is in the light.He already knows our thoughts and or desires, and He does care--even about these matters.Glad you got the 8!

Amen Greg..I like what you said as being an approachable friend...The Lord and I are going hunting alot in Dec. He's knows where they are at.

Well, while you were on a roll like that you coulda pushed it a little further and said "Lord, I'm going to shoot my arrow now and if you want me to keep hunting my arrow will find it's mark"

. . .Just kidding. I often find myself talking to the Lord as if we are going thru the day side by side . . .in all actuality . .we are.

If what you say is True and I have no reason to doubt it. Whydoes not everyone here who prays have stories like this? God is not the Author of confussion and is no respector of persons. We pray for many things, our Kids, Health, The War, Poor, Sinners, Those who lost loved one's, Our understanding, Help us teach some soul, Ect.

But, to ask him, GIVE ME A SIGN, that I am not wasting my time here.

I just can't see that concerning him. I am a big boy, I can think, but I don't know if I am or not.

John 20: 30,31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his diciples, which are not written in this book....But these are written that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. And that believing you might have life thru his name.

21:25 says that Jesus did a lot more and the world its self could not hold the books (Parapharse)

I've got one myself,
I hunt at a 58,000 acre WMA. The hunting is tough as nails..I was trying a new spot scouting/ huntng..the area was too thick and miserable..That little voice inside urged me ot go to a spot about 4 miles away and "When you get there go straight to the Sumter County line...take a left and walk 70 paces."

WEll. it's about 7:30 AM and that is not the best time to start hunting BUT very hesitantly I checked out. Many times our own desires get involved and I really didn't quite beleive it..BUT in faith I followed anyway. When I got to the Sumter trail I walked 60 yds..and nothing was there.

and that little voice said "I said 70." So I walked 10 more yds and then all of a sudden a big ruckus started on my left...and right behind me hogs started coming out...I swung my 12 guage around and killed my first hog..A small one but a hog..

I don't go around following voices BUT I do check them out occasionally.
