Default Sunday Sermonette

Good morning all and how was your thanksgiving day? we had a wonderful time at our house with our children and grandchillin and even two of our great grand ones..as i read these verses i decided to use them as our text for today as i think they are true for a lot of people..notice verse 5..he don't care what we have on the outside our LORD trieth the hearts..

Father may thy Sweet Holy Spirit have absolute control today and may we obey your commands..we pray for the sick and afflicted and those who are discouraged and down hearted. in Jesus name i pray, Amen

1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.
2 A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren.
3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.
4 A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.
5 Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.

Pro.17;1-5 kjv.

All too often we forget that what comes into our lives is allowed by God. Nothing occurs in this world ( believe it!! ) apart from the consent of God. every breath of air we take comes from God and He can cut it off anytime.. man may make his plans but it is the hand of God that either allows or causes failure to come about. remember for those who are lost and do not know God, the things that come into their lives is to open their hearts that they might know God and for the believer it is to help each of us to become more like the Son. our greatest compliment is that you are act and react like your Saviour, Jesus Christ. we want to hear that well done my good and faithful servant from our lord and Saviour.. but if our actions seem more like the Son, then the tests that God has allowed into lives to bring us under his wonderful love, then we are passing the tests. Now we again must see that tests are part of life. Some will seem rather easy, but some will push us to the edge.. i know when i was told i had cancer seven years ago i was scared and didn't know what was going to happen but then one morning about two weeks later when i was walking to my deer stand i was thinking, this may be my last trip to georgia hunting and then i heard that still small voice say to my heart, "Everything will be alright and then a wonderful warm feeling came over me and that peace that passeth all understanding filled my soul".. we must understand that He will be with each of us as we walk this path called life. you know in His Word He says,"I will never leave you nor farsake you" May you each learn to lean more upon Him and may this week of thanksgiving be a time to reflect upon the One who gives us true peace with all that is going on within the world.

Father thank you for that peace that only you can give and i pray if there is one here that don't know you may this be their opportunity to receive your salvation and they too can have that peace in their heart..in Jesus name i pray, Amen

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Chorus

Leaning, leaning,
(Leaning on Jesus, leaning on Jesus)
Safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning,
(Leaning on Jesus, leaning on Jesus)
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Chorus

There's a lot of wisdom in this post. People are always better off when they let God handle the big problems and just follow his lead. Soemtimes we're stubborn or impatient but God really does know better and has much better judgement on things. Happy Thanksgiving back at you and may God bless all of us hunters and bring us home safely to our families.
