RE: I attended a Funeral of a Friend tonight
Very sorry for the loss of your friend TF. I lost one of my best friends back in August.
Besides the obvious, one of the reasons I hate going to funerals is often there's at least one preacher there who does his best to "preach" the deceased into heaven.
I know it's not my place to judge, but give me a break. I can understand wanting to comfort the family, but some of these guys would make better politicians than preachers, IMO.
I've often said John 3:16 is probably the most misused and abused verse in the Bible, for that very reason--changing that one little word.

... Some of us make mistakes. I officiated one of my best friends funeral several years ago, I loved this man like my own dad. I was not only nervous, but I was so choked up with tears it was hard at times to keep on. I was honored to send him away.
