Default Could use a little prayer.

I am considering purchasing a house. It is a very scary step and I would like to be sure it is God's will. Any prayer would be appreciated.

I assume you are paying rent. how much more does it cost to buy? Is it within your budget? Buying is seldom a bad thing if there is money for the monthly payments.
Some things to know before buying is what is planned for adjoining properties. Talking to a fellow yesterday who recently bought a home with 1/2 miles of pasture behind his new home giving him a great country setting. Two weeks after closing, the pasture sold and tract homes are being built adjoining his property. Others here have bought frontage on the highway without being told that it had been planned for ten years to widen the roadway. They now are losing half of their front yards to the state. In addition to prayer, do your homework also.

It is a big step, and I would definately pray for guidance......but that doesn't excuse you from doing your own homework. Do your best to figure out if it's really what you want, and if you can afford it.

I look at it like this.

There was a man sitting in his home, and he see's an alert on the television that a flood is coming and everyone in the area should leave immediately. The man says to himself "I'm not leaving--God will take care of me."

Soon after that, policeman do a door-to-door alert, making sure that everyone in the neighborhood knows the flood is coming--grab what you can and leave immediately. The man tells them "I'm not leaving--God will take care of me."

The man stands on his porch and watches the flood waters riser. A neighbor drives by in a jacked-up 4WD and offers him a ride out. Again, the same response--"I'm not leaving--God will take care of me."

Soon, the man has to retreat to the second floor of his home, as the waters continue to riser. An emergency rescue team comes to him in a boat, and beg him to get in. Can you guess what he said? "I'm not leaving--God will take care of me."

Finally the man winds up on his roof-the only place he can escape the still rising waters. This time a helicoptor flies over, and again the man refuses to leave--"God will take care of me".

Soon after that, the house collapses and the man drowns. At the Pearly Gates, he asked "What happened? Why did I die? I was confident God would take care of me!" The Father replies "I sent you a warning on t.v., I sent you a truck, a boat, and a helicoptor--what more did you need?????"

Point being, again--use the resources God gives you and do your homework. Don't just sit and expect the answer to just hit you in the head.

Also, keep in mind that if you do make the wrong decision, as long as you remain faithful you'll get by and things will work out one way or the other.
