Guys, I'm so thankful to be able to enjoy another deer season . I went saturday morning and was in my stand at the crack of dawn. Man, God's handiwork is wonderful.
I had put my stand up a couple of weeks before, and it seemed fine then, but sometimes theres nothing like actually hunting, to show you that it would have been better in another spot.
This was my first hunt since I bought my first bow last yr, and my thinking was to get in close, but obviously concealment did'nt enter my mind.

Nevertheless I saw three does . . .but there were young with them, and they soon busted me. Then later a young buck (that I would'nt have shot with a rifle) eased in behind me. I determined to go for it as my first bow kill.
He quickly spotted me, and we had a stare off . . .I eventually almost convinced him that I was just an oversized possum hanging there, and he eased on out from under me, still keeping 1 eye peeled. He turns his head away out at 20 yds and I go to draw, and I then realize that drawing my bow sitting with my back against a tree and hunched over is'nt so easy. So I'm putting all I got into it when he turns and says "I thought so!!), tearing off to tell all the critters in the woods about the rookie in the funnel between the railroad tracks and the rye grass field.
Never the less, I had a great day and hav'nt enjoyed a hunt so much since I was a kid. I came away appreciating God's handiwork and in a new deminsion of deer hunting.
Hope your seasons are everything your looking for.
