A church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained
that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.
"I've gone for 30 years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard
something like 3,000 Sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember
a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the
pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."
This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column,
much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone
wrote this clincher: I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife
has cooked some 32,000 meals. But for the life of me, I cannot recall
the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this: They
all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my
wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today.
Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually
dead today!"

I'd like to go a step further and say, ifwe areonly being fed once a week, then we are suffering from spiritual anorexia. A hearty diet of God's word daily keeps us strong enough tofight the enemy daily, and deal with the issues of life.

I have always heard the saying, "BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER." To me, I always like our Sunday night services b/c the people who really want to worship together are there while on Sunday mornings we have the mixed bag of worshipers and people who believe that going to a church makes them right.
Kind of like me saying I am a mechanic and I have a garage with all the tools and I spend time in the garage, but I never work on anything b/c I don't know how.
Personally for me, I go to church b/c we are commanded to assemble together but also for me personally to help recharge with fellow believer. BUT, true fellowship with Christ is a daily walk, not a weekly attendence.

I was thinking of this Vs tonight when I got back from Bible Study. Our preacher did a study of this word FRIEND I knew this and probably so do you. Someone Asked Sunday who could be our Friends and How? As the Class was ending.
Tonight he mentioned that the Word for Friend was Translated Love in some Versions. Then he read a Comment by another Brother. When we Love the World more than we love being with our Brothers and Sisters, we got a problem. When we love Giving more to the World than we do to the Lord, we got a problem. When we love doing things of the World more than Worshiping God, We got a problem. I know this and so do you. But it gets put on the back Burnner sometimes and we need reminded, who we are serving and what is important, I was thinking Hunting is FUN, but do we put it before God and Others. Making Money is FUN, but do we cheerfuly give to the Lord? God must come First are not at ALL! We can't Ride a fence that is not there. Any of you Guys ever take a Girl home and ask Her, do I have to come back Wenesday Nite? What would she say? Why we are on the Phone to hear that beloved Voice that we haven't herd for 10 Mins. Her Mother runs you home and your back. Why because YOU Love her. When we Love the Lord like that we won't need to think about Sunday Nite and Wensday Nite we will be there. I believe this is a reason to Study, Worship and be with the church.
