Default confirmation

i go to a lutheran church and they are relaly confusing me with the changes they are doing to the confirmaiton system this year first they are putting an elder with each confirmand which i understand but then they are allowing each confirmand a single day for their confirmation at the parents discretion unlike the way they have done it in past years which was that all of the confirmands got confirmed on one day and the entire service was surronded on us making the commitment to jesus our lord and savior. anyways i guess i was just wondering how your church's do confirmation if they do it?

What exactly is it that you're "confirming"? Salvation, or your commitment to Christ?

Eighth graders are confirmed in the Spring by the bishop. (2nd graders go through First Communion.)

Since I'm a convert I'll be "confirmed" at Easter and then I can receive communion. My mom has also converted and she'll be "confirmed" at Easter in a different parish. She'll also be baptized. I put "confirmed" in quotes because I dont' think it's called "confirmation" if you're an adult.

Our baby Miriam will be baptized next week.

DLG, I mean you no disrespect, I don't mean to be Un-loving, Hateful, Un-Kind However this is going to come out that way.

Would it do any good for four are five of us to Take 300 Lb. Man and Baptize him He don't want to be baptized but we are going to do it anyway? No! Correct?

What about a 200 Lb. Man same thing he don't want to be Baptized, but we are going to do it anyway. No! Right?

What about a 100 Lb. Man he don't want to be baptized, but we are going to do it anyway. Do him any Good? No!

Now what about a 10 Lb. Man, He crying his Lungs out, he don't want to be Baptized, but we are going to do it anyway. Will it do him any good? Many will say YES!

By the same reason of Logic. If it did the 10 Lb. Man any good? Then we should Baptize every Man and Woman alive.
If Not? Why Not?

It was this kind of thinking that, changed my mind about Infant Baptism.

Its really for the parents, not the child. A Baby can't Believe, Repent, Confess, However they can be Baptized. But for the wrong Reasons.

You need to do a Serious Study on Baptism. I Pray this Post is taken in the Love it was presented. I mean you NO harm at all. And if you understand this post you will not like it, but please give it some thought.

I have found a faith through which I feel very blessed and my husband and I share that faith. And we want to pass that blessing on to our child. In a way we have that precious child because of that faith.

I don't really care to argue about it. If you don't agree with us, then that's up to you.

If they were like my boys growing up I might just say they were not ready to yet just to keep them going and to get them out from under
