A little 5 year old kindergarden boy came home from school and ask his mother if he could talk with her about something. He and his mother sit down at the kitchen table and the mom is thinking she is going to here more about his letters or the fun stuff he did at school that day. The little fellow gets a serious look on his face and his eyes blink a couple of times to keep from tearing up. He humblely ask his mother if he gets in trouble at school again for praying does it mean he will get into trouble at home.
When the whole story came out, he had gotten pulled out of the lunch room at school and the principle had gotten onto him for asking God to bless his food before he ate. He was not loud or yelling, just praying in a normal tone of voice, talking to God like he right there next to him. He was told that it he could not pray while at school. At 5 years old, he was still determined to ask God to bless his food before he ate and give him Thanks.
Granted the Mother called the principle and demanded an apology for her son by the principle and she recieved one her self. In our pastor's defense, he was prepared to go to the school with the Mother to confront the principle about it. The little boy is one of the children in my wife's sunday school class. It really made me take a hard look at myself to see what kind of courage and conviction this little fellow has already. It gives whole new meaning to child-like faith..... It is a blessing to see the little ones stand up for our Lord and Savior though. I am sorry to be long winded but thought I would share that with you guys.
Great Post and praise the Lord for the children He blesses us with!
Here is a little story I read about one day. There was a mom and her 3 year old son in an elevator along with a man, and at some point He took the Lord's name in vain and that 3 year old boy said, "excuse me mister but that's my God you're talking about!" The man did apologize to the boy for his behaviour.
Not everyone is hostile though. When I say the blessing to myself in the cafeteria at school, my friends at the table all get quiet. They don't join in but they stop talking.

No not everyone but do you remember when you were 5 and one minute someone was your best friend and then the next minute you didn't like them. This is probably what happened to this little boy. There will more than likely come a day when your little Miriam comes home and talks about her little friend for a week and then the next week you could ask about her friend and she will say I don't like her she did such and such. I forgot what it was like to be a kindergartener until I had one. But now that you expect it you will smile the first time it happens. They also go through this stage when they are in their pre-teens. My aunt says it drives her crazy because one of the girls will invite their friend over and my aunt will start thinking of them as another daughter and then all of a sudden they aren't friends anymore, and it breaks her heart. She also did that as a pre teen to her mom.
