Default forgiviness

If we ask forgiviness everything we have done up to that point we are forgiven. I know am only human I will do sinful things. I try my best to do do sinful things its hard at times and I feel bad that I do. To be truthful its sometimes easier to do sinful things then the right.

Fred. {Mr. Honest}

Paul addresses your problem in Romans 7 Fred.

Struggling with Sin
Romans 7:14 So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. 15 I don"™t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don"™t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. 16 But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. 17 So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[d] I want to do what is right, but I can"™t. 19 I want to do what is good, but I don"™t. I don"™t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. 20 But if I do what I don"™t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
21 I have discovered this principle of life"”that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. 22 I love God"™s law with all my heart. 23 But there is another power[e] within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. 24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? 25 Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

But it doesn't stop here Fred...he goes on to write Romans 8..You know there really wasn't chapters andyway in Paul's day..this was one big letter. There are a couple of views on this portion of scripture Fred..I've heard some use it to say Paul struggled and sinned all the time and it's normal..so they think nothign of their sin..The other view is that Paul was simply writing this to show that the flesh is powerless to please God...the over coming walk for the Christian is in the next chapter..please read with me...this is a good one to start the day with.

Romans 8 1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Question...is there not a condition to this "No condemnation"? This is the first verse I check Fred when comparing verisions..if the translation leaves out."Who walk not after the flesh" I leave it alone..most versions do...for me that is the key...No one likes condemnation,,and trust me ..if you are sinning you will fall into guilt and condemnation. So this verse should be a wake up call...2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Speaking about 2 laws here ...The Romans 7 law of trying to please God in our flesh..It can't be done..Your flesh is too strong....OR the Law of the Spirit which Paul is about to emphasize.
3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, jist said that..too strong Fred.God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Jesus took care ofour offenses , sins, and any other thing that would keep us from Heaven on the cross.
Many stop here..don't realize we have a responsibility ..let's read on.
4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Did you see that.?."That the righteousness ..might be fulfilled in us WHO WALK AFTER THE SPIRIT.

Psalm 23 sayd that God leads us in paths of righteousness....He does this by his Spirit..Righteousness is not one who is living that yo yo life of Romans 7,
5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. self explamnatory..
6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

So the battle is won or lost in your mind...Paul goes on to tell us that we should present our bodies to God daily as a living sacrifice and renew our minds with the Word of God...You are what you think..Proverbs says .."AS a man thinketh ..so is He." Paul also says in verse 2 of 12 "Be not conformed to this world ..bu tbe ye transformed by GOD's WORD...This Fred..is why we monitor our fellowship, our music , TV etc..It also says in Romans.."Evil communications corrupt good manners." and in Cor. "A little leaven leavenths the whole lump...and Jesus in Matthew 13 ..the cares o fthis world CHOKE out the Word making it unfruirful.
7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

NEITHER INDEED CAN BE..It's impossible Fred...we must overcome and please God by His Spirit...a carnal mindcan't please God...Heloves this present world.
8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Take NOTE!!!
9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Only you can answer that Fred??Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Note the IF..the spirit is in you...and also note the Of you don't have God's Spirit you are none of His.
12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. WE are deptors...looks like we are not robots..buy are indepted to put an effort to walk in the Spirit.
13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die:WOW !!not maybe..but acertain death if we walk in the flesh..Gal. 5 also has a list of those "WHO will not inherit the Kingdom of God.!! Very sobering.but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

OK Do you see how we put this nasty old man to death..by God's Spirit...john 6 :63 says that God's Word is Spirit..WE take these worldly thoughts and but them to death by obeyin gGod's Word.
14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Here is an honest summary to Fred and the rest..I had just gone over James 2 last week...and yes ..even in our best state we sin..simply from our motives if nothing else..The righteous man Fred, strives for the mark...he loves God's Word and the Christian and God are constantly planning together with the aid of our God given faith, God given Spirit and the Word ways of glorifying God..The Christian knows well this dilema of the battle of the flesh and has a prayer life..Through the years and hard lessons he's learned his need for prayer and has gotten a dependency upon God..He loves God...and doesn't want to sin...not anymore to keep out of Hell....but becasue he wants to nurture His faith and faith please God..It's a growing process Fred...BUT we should be growing..The best way to grow..Read your Bible my friend. If you are honestly following after God Fred...your sins are covered..and you are saved..and you are bearing fruit...your love and kindness should be increasing not decreasing..You grow to be like God's children..showing mercy ..looking beyond the faults of people and seeing their need..Be honest with your habits Fred and ask God ot deliver you from them..he will.1 John 1 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
This is a daily confession my friend ...and a daily walk.
Sincerely,
Chuck7
