Default Quick Bible study on something powerful I learned yesterday.

WOW!! This was an eye opener for me..We have all used or remember the verses in James2 that says if you fail in one part of the law that you have failed in the keeping of the whole law..and I thought the example that was used was "If you commit adultury." Well many on here have not broken that law..But what was surprizing to me was..he wasn't using that example at all..He was using something that we all do..Showing favoritism..Let's look.
James 2
1My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. self explanatory..
2For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
self explanatory.
4Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?WOW!! judges of evil thoughs ..when we beginto categorize?..
5Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
6But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
7Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
8If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. RIGHT HERE!!! if we choose some over others..we all do it..WE SIN !! and I thought about it..it's only natural..WE all do it..There are some folks i like to be around and some I don't even those who call themselves Christians..Now..I noticed when I was dead to myself and fasted up ..I never hasd this problem..but in my natural state even Christian natural state..I fail in this area..and because of James pointing out IF you do this you are guilty..I must admit..I need God 's grace and mercy for i am undone..I've been hurt alot and yes I do choose whom I will associate with etc..I mean even our different denonminations tell us that this is a serious problem.
10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. I am guilty!!!
11For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. SO SPEAK...my brothers and sisters..live and act like children of God who will be judged by the throne room of mercy.Extend mercy to all.May we do that even here..May we put aside our personally differences..our denonminational differences and show mercy to one another.
13For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

Look at the warning..There are 2 thrones..one for the unmerciful and one for the merciful..Let's and live like those who have chosen mercy..This is the reasion for my signature..In our flesh we do err..but mercy..forgiveness is divine,
In Christ Jesus,
Chuck7

Thanks Chuck that was great!

If I may add I would like to take this a step further into Romans 12 starting with verse 9

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
10 Be kindly affectionate to one another w/ brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

There is more but you can read it on your own time.
Another passage to check out for some encouragement is 2Peter 5-11!

Amen ..andI appreciate the feedback....I know this was really an eye opener to me..and also an impossible walk to walk apart from the enpowerment of the Holy Spirit...Unconditional love is certainly not natural. I come up very very short in this area..

I apreciate all of the replies..You know I was thinking this morning..How does one overcome or deal with this diliema ?? and as I was quiet I got this.

We can't do much about the evil thoughts... BUT we can do someting about the "Being judges of evil thoughts." To me..being the judges is taking those evil thoughts and verbalizing them in the form of gossip or slander.

James 2: 4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? King James.

James 2 :4 4Are you not discriminating among your own and becoming critics and judges with wrong motives?Amplified

I sincerely beleive if one strives to stop being judges of evil thoughts.. one will be truly blessed..like never before.

James 3:2For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Psalm 34: 11Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

God bless ..

I have to plead guilty to gossip. I've never really thought about it that much, but it is wrong. Like, talking about other people's problems and thinking that you are doing better than they are. I have to get off to school now but I'll try to keep my mind on that today.
