Default more technology= more sin

As we get more technology seems that its easier to do sinful things. For example TV, internet, books, magnizies, people in general. Think about for example go back 100 years most people lived and worked on farms. Thats all you really knew. Yeah went to church on sundays. The outside world didnt get to involved in. Its so easy now to do sinful things. With internet and TV being big factors many things on there make it look like the sinful things arent really that bad its normal to do them.

the devil at work, those people and companies are trying to indoctrinate you, getting you to do/believe something long enough w/o any thought of consequence it becomes accepted behavior, doesn't make it right though...

turn the TV off

if you want to see how slickly cooperate America is degrading our society check out the book "the marketing of evil" this didn't happen over night, it is a slow and methodical process to destroy your so called freedoms, don't believe it, continue in your slumber, one day you wake up, oh homosexuals can be married, animals are people too, you kids don't have to obey you, you want be able to discipline them. there are people right now that would love for things to be this way, you wont be able to celebrate Christmas because it offends too many Islamics, but you government must recognize Ramadan as the "most holy month" these things are happening daily

I think history tells us that there was a whole lot of evil and depravity in the world long before TV and the internet, etc. Remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah?

i agree, the temptation is staring you in the face on a daily basis, especially for men. I think christians had it much easier 50+ years ago. that's why its so important to guard your eyes and ears in this day and age.

I don't know that it is any harder or worse than it was 50 years ago but I will share this. Women who married farmers didn't get out very much it was maybe once a week that they had company and that was if they were going to church or could afford to go.

Most of what is on t.v. is garbage, a lot of what is on the radio is too. But some of the technology we have can be a good thing as long as it is used properly. Such as the internet, I feel that thissite is a great place for a Christian to spend some time on. A lot of people have used the internet to stay in touch, to reach out to others, and use it for a learning tool.

Each of us is responsible for deciding what is okay for us and what isn't. I listen to Christian radio stations, because it wouldn't be a good example for my children to listen to mainstream. We limit t.v. and video game time. I read Christian books. Sometimes it is harder to find the Christain books, or music you want but it is worth the time than to settle for mainstream.

It is good to be aware of the temptations that are out there, but what is most important is what you do to safeguard yourself to not be sucked into those temptations. As for the t.v. I don't pay for cable. I have the basic channels you get from an antenna and that's it.Less channels to watch absolutley nothing with value. I let my kids watchcertain shows on public television. Josh watches football, and after the kids go to bed we watch otherwisethe t.v. is normally off.

I agree Fred...I can remember getting drunk . stoned and driving around looking for wild women..I never did fine any. I'm dead serious...stayed a virgin till I was 22

But now..I reckon anyone could get a cyber date..Once God opened up my eyes to what lust does to our individual faith walk...I soon learned to dispise that kind of thing..
Now, in the schools..technology is a big deal .here are some blessings.

1. All test data i sbroken to show the child's individual weakness or if the teacher forgot to cover it.I mean if 14 out of 16 stutents miss question 6 , then we need to cover that standard better.

2. Attendance..I'm to record my attendence by 9:00 AM..When a child does not come to school the parent is automatically called .

3. All grades are done by computer now..parents can access their own child's grades daily to see how they are doing.

4. In our classrooms we are all getting smartboards..basically a giant computer screen that interacts with the entire class room.

5. TOns of live Science videos are there as well by simply tying in an address...white tail deer or walkin gacross the screen or and elephant in Africa.

6. In my room..if a child wants to participate in fun Friday..they must have at least a C on behavior for the week and have read at least one AR book. Then they look up that book on the computer and take a comprehension test,.They must have at least a C to particiapate.

7. I contact many of my parents through E mail.I'd rather nip problems in the bud than get the prinipal involved.
This guy.

God used this man to get me on my knees this year..I was ready to quit...However; just last week he said."Chuck , God has been dealing with me to get my priorities straight." He is a bow hunter as well but has hung up his bow. He is always at the school working.

And more...I do my scouting by Google.Earth
I buy great hard ot find stuff off Ebay.
I just ordered another set of broadheads off Cabelas
Thank God for Map Quest
and Weather Bug
and the list goes on...

But for your own Faith's sake..leave the smut alone.
It can destroy your faith
destroy your marriage
Get you arrested
and destroy your computer....real fast like

I think it still depends on what is in your heart. It just isn't that difficult to resist the stuff you can find on TV and the internet and all. It might be easier but it's all a matter of what you're looking for.
