I have noticed something many folks my age (people mainly their 20's) question relgion, dont believe, believe but their morals are shot. Now is some new or has this always been a problem? My man Fred.
And yet another simplistic from the heart post..
Fred..being a teacher I hear you loud in clear..I'm not even planning on retiring.I'm taking one year at a time.
1.Can you but help the youth in their reason to not believe.Even on here ..do you really see Christians "Knitted together in love." I trust not..It's all of our jobs to take a stand on our faith differences...while Satan sits backs and laughs his butt off. While we are preaching "our stands" to the choir..the unbeleivers are goingto hell in a bread basket.
2. Although spanking children and even embarassing them in the public school is wrong...we can allow filthy rap, violent heavy metal, access of porn and mockery of morals ..TV to be a smorgasboardacessable for all children of all ages.
3. Of my 18 students' .....4 of the parents are in the county jail for meth use...most do not live with a mom and dad.Our nation is in trouble..God doesn't tell our nation to straighten up ..He tells His people to straighten up "IF my people who are called by my name will humble THEMSELVES and pray and seek my face THEN will I hear from heaven and heal their land.."
GOd's people needto repent and try to get along ..put aside their idols...read their Bibles..walk in obedience...desire the fruit of the Spirit to be manifested in their lives..It starts with us.
It's postmodernism--which isn't all too new--it's been coming around since about the 70's. It's what drugged out parents have raised as kids.
However, it's not all bad. Youth nowadays are turned on more to the idea of "spirituality" and "there's something else out there" than ever before. Experiencing God isn't "far out" or unlikely. However, this postmodern group doesn't like the idea of Jesus because they equate it with Christianity (which it should be imo, but so often the Jesus of Christianity is different than the actual Jesus Christ).
The world has become more and more depraved ever since the beginning. Sin is happening all the time, whether you're in your 50's, 40's, 30's, or 20's. Is it running more rampant now? Probably so. It just means that we have to try harder at showing the love of Christ to people.

It just seems to me that many my age religion isnt important to them. I find it very sad this is happening. The older people I know 40 + religion is important to them there are alot of them. Of these older people maybe why is because its who I socialize with. Then you have people my age I am socializing with a whole group of people interested in different things. All I know of my group I hang with I am the only one that ever begins up religion.

Mr. Fred 2 Timothy 3 The Dangers of the Last Days 1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
I believe the problems with youths is usually traced back to the problems of poor parenting. (and the problems and deficiencies of our society)
I don't want to boast of my parenting ability, but I think my daughter turnned out pretty great so far. Here she is with her first Allberta trophy pronghorn.
i'm 24, so i know exactly what you're talking about. of all of my friends that i grew up with who grew up in christian homes, NONE of them are following the Lord. Not one. They either don't believe Christianity is true, believe it's true but would rather live a sinful life, or just doubt the existance of God.
like duffy said, a lot of it has to due with poor parenting. I can see that being a major issue in how my friends turned out. another part of it just has to due with the way the world is going in general - forsaking god and doing what you want to do.
and questioning religion i dont see as necessarily a bad thing. we should question everying. when you question things it could lead to seeking, and whoever seeks Jesus will find him.
